C a British citizen & B a Australian citizen, met whilst B was in the UK. C now in Australia on WHV 417 ( 12 months ending August 2019). Hoping to settle here in Oz. We are looking at options on how to best move forward to benefit us long term (less employment restrictions and best pathway financially) Skilled visa vs partner visa vs second WHV vs ??? If you qualify for a skills visa then you don't get "allocated a job" you would need to apply for one, so if you don'r want to move, don't apply for jobs in other areas. MaggieMay24 Posted October 29, 2018 Share Posted October 29, 2018 A skilled visa will likely be less expensive and if you were to apply now/soonish, you'd get the PR visa sooner since the partner visa starts with a temporary visa.
