My company has applied for 186 TRT for one of our cooks and she had her nomination approved without further documents requested. Applied roughly 4.5 months ago and got approved last Friday.
For her VISA, Immi requested finger prints and medical examination, which she is doing in the next few days.
She has been on a 457 visa since July 2015 as a cook, is from China and is a single applicant.

I’ve got a call from my MA agent yesterday saying that Department requesting me to do the Medical check and AFP police check. So I guess that’s a good sign 🙂

My MA organising Medical exam for me now

Hi Milan, when did you apply for visa? Is nomination already approved?

Ćao Nemanja 🙂

My MA submitted nomination and visa application at the same time in June this year. I’ve forgot to ask if they did approve the nomination yesterday or no , I’ve forgot to ask because of the excitement I guess 🙂 But considering we lodged nomination and visa application at the same time, Department now waiting for medical exam and AFP check so that they can “hopefully” grant the visa all together .
I think Department requesting me to do a Medical exam is a good sign and some movement in visa process is always welcome 🙂

If anyone have the similar case like mine pls guys share some information

Cheers

My nomination 186 TRT was approved in May 2017. Subsequently applied for visa. ABF visited site in middle of 2018. Was absent due to religious programme. Employer was barred for non compliance and later on visa refused for employer's adverse information. Reviewed at AAT. On bridging A since October 2018 without any condition. Just wondering, is it mandatory to work only with my employer? Or I can work with other people also. Any specialist's advice would be much appreciated.

@MELBOURNE2011 This sounds interesting, care to elaborate of the story?

As for your question: No, you cannot work for / with anyone else whilst on a sponsored visa (not without them first taking over the sponsorship). You also cannot work at multiple places.
- Basically, the condition of a sponsored visa is that you need to remain working for the company who sponsored you. If you leave, the visa is cancelled (unless you leave to another company who is willing to take over the sponsorship - in which case the visa lifetime restarts). This includes any other "additional" work.

I haven’t seen much of the approvals lately, I believe immigration is shut down or what

True.  Been waiting since March.  No requests for documentation, no approval of nomination, nothing.  Anyone out there from Jan,  Feb or March still waiting?

Afternoon

currently on appeal (16 months so far) for failing to reach training benchmarks in one year of the sponsorship.

has anyone had any success at appeal with this issue?

Our agent believes we have a good case based on the location (rural) we are in as it is hard for us to get employees whether that be Australian or not and for them to commit to long term employment to do training with.
also the recent changes in the training levy and the new announcement of the regional visa should help us.
