Hi @jess6, that's a relief. I spoke to IMMI a few weeks ago and found out it was being processed differently. At that point he said that they were processing March TRN applications and February for Direct Entry.  Wish it weren't so but it was actually from someone who took the time to look at our file and clarify timelines with his colleagues. We didn't even have a CO at that point.

I would be happy if that was incorrect, but even Feb-April data on our spreadsheets support this. So disappointed at how long this has taken all things considered. Nearing 8.5 months for us now. Pure agony and has only gotten better after I stopped checking daily, as I no longer expect to get it this month.

@Izzielizzie I asked twice and she said that applications that are already lodged (Transition and Direct Entry) are very unlikely to be impacted.

She does not seem to believe that Direct Entry applications are being processed differently than Transition applications by the way.

My current status "assessment in progress" . Visa lodged on 23rd March. Additional information requested 29th Oct. Submitted 29th Nov. 457 transition. It's nearly 9 months of waiting. Good luck to those who are still patiently waiting for the good news to finally come...

Hi guys, I'd like to add ourselves to the spreadsheet but can't find it? My husband is the primary applicant as 262112 ICT SECURITY SPECIALIST and we're going down the Direct Entry route (we've been here since end June and he started his job beg July). His employer's nomination was submitted 02/12/2016 and I submitted our application on 15/12/16. I've already had my medical (last week, before we applied) but husband and 3 kids got to wait to be sent as we've applied now.

cheers,

ItchyFeet

Hey guys, I asked my MA yesterday why the processing order is so out of whack. She said there's a number of factors. So when an application is lodged for an occupation that is deemed 'more in demand by govt', it flags in the system and potentially gets pushed up in the que. The occupations that are more easily filled, cooks, project mangers etc (pls note she was JUST using these occupations as examples...) they get processed as normal. Also, each case worker is assigned a number of files. Once they have completed these files, they are then assigned another batch. As case workers work at different speeds and depending on the complexity of the files they are working on, more often than not, a case worker may get more recent files whilst their co worker is still on an older batch. Does that make sense? I'm not sure how true this is but it does kinda make a lot of sence as to how the apps are being allocated. Again, this is just MAs experiance.

Hey! Nice to see someone else in the same role! We'd be classed as 'standard application' I'm afraid. She thinks a 30th june LR application will go through jan/feb so just a waiting game really. I also asked if we should complete form 80 as heard a lot of people saying it was requested but apparently these were mandatory only till June 2015 and 99% of her clients have received 186 without it. Yay.

Good luck guys!

Hi @ZoeSydney, thanks for sharing. Did your MA say anything about none priority occupations at all? Or did you hear about Marketing Specialists at all?

Thanks for sharing the feedback! That makes a lot of sense.

We can probably assume that the occupations on the SOL are probably prioritised then.

Considering that my occupation (Marketing Specialist) in the third most applied for on the CSOL: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-11-20/government-cutting-457-job-list-for-skilled-migrants/8040548

Except if I get lucky, I guess I might have to wait a few more months... :frown:
