Hi All,

Although it's bit late but I'm happy to share a news on my PR grant. Please find the timeline below -

Occupation : Developer Programmer

Location : VIC

Applicants: 1 onshore (primary) + 1 offshore

Stream : 186 Direct Entry

Visa and nomination submitted: 14/01/2020

Visa and nomination granted: 22/01/2020

Relevant Experience:  3+ years ( only 2+ years after skill assessment met date)

This forum has been so much help to me in the past few months and I can't emphasize enough to hire an agent/lawyer at least for a nomination process. My company was refused a nomination application earlier as it was a DIY application.

@Samurai, it’s fantastic, only 1 week to have visa granted.
when did you have medical examination?

Anyone here in hospitality? Been waiting for my 186 for 16 months and still nothing. Last time I heard from immigration was almost a year ago to sent them my police check from my country and that's about it.

I applied august 2019 for business nomination and got nomination approved January 2020 and applied end of January 2020 for visa part.Since then no movement. As restaurant manager.

Even though with an approved nomination they aren’t processing it.You definitely aren’t alone.
Unfortunately I do believe that this won’t change until the government change their approach to immigration.

Thank you for the replay. As a restaurant manager not much movement which is unfair that they process other occupations faster and we are on the back side waiting which is crazy maybe they should mention in the 186 application that some occupations need to wait longer then others not just put over all 5-10 months processing period. But hopefully we get an answer soon.

Hi guys, have anyone done health examination with kids? Do kids take longer to get medical  results than adults?
My family had medical  assessment last Friday and were cleared on same day excepted my 4yo kid. Does it mean sth bad?

@Pr2021 we did our exams with 2 (young) children and the results also came back at different times to each others - mine came first, then my wife and both children later.

- All in all it took ±5-7 days (there was a weekend included) before it reflected in the system, so I wouldn't worry about this.

NOTE: It's worth noting that my son's medical never came through to the Immi system and only after calling and explaining this to the department, did they look into why it was never captured. It ended up never showing but they had it on their system so there was nothing I needed to do.

PS - I had to do 2 medicals for my son (unrelated to the above story), as the first one was before he was 2 years old and at 2 years old they are needed to be tested for TB (from certain countries) and hence, when my application took longer than expected, we were required to go get another test for that.

I don't think you need to worry, if there's concern they will call you. Good luck!

@Dkumar93 I know it can be frustrating - I had to wait for nearly 12 months (which you're coming up to).

I learnt and was told (many times) that calling the department rarely solves anything but add frustration... Apparently if you call and your case is older that two times the expected wait time posted online, then they can look into your case and provide reasons (never confirmed) - other than that, I've seldom heard any good outcomes from calling the department. Good luck!

Thanks @Hex. But what was another test after TB test? My daughter had blood test for TB, I think that’s why it takes longer to get her result.

@Pr2021 My son had 2 tests.

First one - general medical for 1 year old.

Application took long and he turned 2 years old (at which stage they need a TB test). I was requested to go back and do JUST a TB test. This was done and results were uploaded.

So in all, we did 2 tests for him, the general first, then he turned 2 years old and had to go back for the TB test.

Hello,

I’ve been wondering if it has been anywhere written on immi website about reaching double of posted online waiting time or is it just a rumour?

thank you

@Nora93 from memory it's been mentioned here on this forum before (you'd need to dig back into threads) and was mentioned to me from my MA at the time.

None of which was confirmed, hence, I cannot guarantee it's actually a thing (maybe just a "rule of thumb").

Hi Samurai,

Can you please share how much was your salary as a software developer when you applied for the 186 visa?

I am almost in a similar situation and applying as a software engineer with a 60k plus super salary. is it justifiable as a market salary rate?

Hi guys,

I was lurking for the past two weeks and just registered to provide my timeline:

Occupation: Software Engineer

Location: Onshore, VIC

Stream: DE

Submitted: 21/01/2021 (1+1)

Medicals cleared:  25/01/2021 (27/01/2021 for +1)

Nomination approved: 25/01/2021

Visa granted: 02/02/2021

Hey, seisuiseki,

Can you please share your salary when you applied for 186?

I am in a similar situation and have a 60k plus super salary. I am wondering is it enough to prove the market salary rate as a software engineer? I am going to apply for nomination and visa in a week.

Please guide,

Thanks.

@raza12345 where are you situated? Salary ranges are different for each state - if you're in Sydney for example, that rate, with that title - would be less than the average rate from my knowledge.

Actually, as per discussion with my lawyer, DHA is considering many factors.

Besides from salary, there are other things like nature of business, genuine of position, cash flow, BAS statement, ratio - number of Australian(Citizen/PR) compare to non-Australian(temporary visa holder), nationality of applicant (I just guess, but this can be as well, I think they try to diverse the community as you might know that the majority of individual skilled visa (189/190) are taken by only certain nationalities)

In conclusion, I just want to say that lower salary doesn’t mean nomination will be refused. The job is to make DHA satisfy with the paperworks and nomination application.

Also, I don’t think it is possible to just tell your boss to increase salary for the nomination to be approved ?? They control all financial stuff, don’t they ?? If salary is not reasonable, DHA might suspect that you are buying a PR as well ??

From my research around here, most refusal reason is unstable financial status like DHA don’t trust that the business will be able to pay that salary in next 2 years. I haven’t seen any case of salary too low before (but I’m sure there were before)

My case, as my opinion, I think it is very weak (low salary - I cannot tell but it is very low - you might not believe that my nomination is approved if I told you my number - I still think that CO might pressed the wrong button, simple programmer task without complexity or specialise in the field, small company, etc.) but my nomination was approved in 3 days. It depends on your agent experiences as well.

I suggest that just let your company submit it and wait. If it is refused, there are some options like submit nomination again or appeal with AAT.
