Often nice in September to prepare you for the dreaded November. Global warming has its positive side perhaps?

Last few years have seen warm sunny Novembers infact we have had very mild winters the last few years. This summer has been a long one and except for a couple of weels of rain it has been warm and sunny. Yes global warming has seen mild winters and longer summers that start in march.

They had some bloke from kew gardens on the news .

With all the specialist plant varieties ,he has to keep a keen eye on weather change .

He reckons our defined 4 seasons have gone out the window .

He reckons all bets are off ...but we just don't have a winter of Dec - Feb anymore ,with temps often below zero .

We had no days below zero last year and only a handful of frosts .

I commented the weather was almost the same in Dec as it was in June .

Blokes stood outside the pub drinking a week before Xmas ...you can keep the snow for me

Nah, that was because I bought snow socks for my car last year.

32.5c in London today .....just had 29c in the van driving through Warwickshire .....summer overall has been bloody good after a wet start

Out in Solihull today ...another nice day ...its looking mighty fine ....someone mentioned damage...if there is any in the midlands I would know about I ...there isn't any.

It hammered with rain for an hour Las night ....we get that tropical type rain now .

The UK is bigger than the midlands though and yes there is damage in some parts of the UK, there are cars flooded, shops flooded all that water causes 'damage' which people will try to claim on insurance.

its like the rain in Australia the last few years over here, we get a few hours of unbelievable thunderstorms and torrential downpours that just flood the old Victorian drain system and then the sun comes out. We dont get the days of constant rain we did a decade ago so much.

Its strange because there has been nothing on the news here ....if there is a bit of flooding then that is becoming the norm now ..you will have take my word for it that iam aware of any major events .

We had flash flooding in brum 2 months ago ....water a metre high in some properties in north Birmingham and parts of the black country .

It will happen again this winter somewhere in the u.k ...somerset flats ?...cumbria ? ..

Who knows but its becoming a common theme .

Australia has increasing heat and bush fires ,we have increasing temps and flooding ....compared to some countries we are bloody lucky .

No hurricanes ,typhoons or earthquakes of any note .

Look at china ,north Korea and Taiwan and that's just this week alone .

Yep the climate is certainly changing world wide and at a fast pace, look at the average temp in Australia rising year on year and then look at the very mild winters over the last decade in the uk along with the short but massive downpours. It's happening and probably to late to stop it getting even worse.

It must be nice to have some heat and sun, i do feel for the people not in the SE who are suffering damaging storms, floods etc, it looks like quite a lot of damage has been caused by the rain so fingers crossed the insurance companys are prepared.

Having to deal with annual cyclones, flooding and storm batterings really does give you an edge on preparation......we could learn a lot from our East Coast cousins in Australia.....any tips?

Not for some poor souls. One part of the country too hot and the other has flooding. Sounds a bit like Australia in some ways.

I just had a Facebook post from a year ago pop up and I had said something about having gone soft during my time in Australia because I had the heating on every day! I am in the SE so getting the hot sunny weather but I could do with a bit of cloud as I am working in the home office and it currently has no blinds and the sun is blazing through. Very uncomfortable!
