I can give you my landlords contact on personal email. It's in north Canberra in nice area and we love it here. Next to us are primary and high school. There is a lot of competition for rental accommodation because the students are all coming back for the new university year. Wait until March or April when the rush has settled down, and you'll be able to do better deals with the real estate agents. You can't survive without a car in Canberra, so your best bet is to buy a car as soon as you arrive, it will make it much easier to find accommodation.
