Employer nomination approved, 457 visa + defacto partner (both British) application lodged 11th June with MA, still waiting for any kind of status change on the website, medicals not requested (yet!), maybe they can see I keep checking the status online thrice a day (at least) so are going to take their time!! Got flights on hold departing 5th August which need to be booked by 16th July as supposed to be starting job in Sydney on 13th August! So much to organise and so little time to do it in the closer the departure date gets ... just want approval now! Hate being in limbo! Lol!

11/06/2013 Application received - processing commenced

11/06/2013 Application fee received

Anybody had any experience or able to provide a 457 approval time frame for the Sydney office? MA says recently has been under 4 weeks, which for us should be by the end of next week (hopefully!) ...

Have you got visa jdv

Hi guys,

Found an email with an update notification in my mailbox today: "visa finalised - granted"! Cannot click on "view grant letter" though… Got a second (automatically generated) mail stating that correspondence had been sent (though haven't received anything yet).

Does anyone know, is there any delay in being allowed to enter the country after the visa has been granted? Because want to start booking my flight asap! Probably will make it in time to start work as agreed with my sponsor after all!!!!

Time line:

nomination and visa application approved simultaneously: nomination after 3 months, visa application after 5 weeks

nomination lodged: 25th sept

visa application lodged: 13th november

visa granted: 18th december

never been contacted by any CO

Hope I get the actual email with grant approval any time soon???

To all of you still waiting, hang in there.. it will happen!!!!!!

Best of luck!

did u got ur visa mate ?

Hi nikhil

In this letter employer will mention that your wife working for him /her . She is very good employee and now she would like to bring her husband into Australia to stay with her and have happy life . She can support him financialy .

My cousin brother employer wrote same for his wife .

Internal transfer from the UK with my current employer as Specialist Manager NEC .. I noticed that a lot of people seem to have been asked for medicals on various forums so assumed that was a regular practice .. hopefully if we dont need one then it may speed up the process!

We didn't need to do any medical examinations; and as per our application, MA filed our application one day and the next it was accepted. Not sure why it was so quick, but I guess because they needed my husband in Oz? We only had bit more than a month to move.

I'm sure you will be fine :)
