@Southlander do you really think there is a possibility that we won’t hear anything for another year?! We submitted Feb 2020, I am really starting to struggle. My husband has a job offer in Adelaide, I feel like we will never get over. Life has been in limbo far too long for us already.

Mine has said received for as long as I can remember… I do hope it is positive news though. We summited 13th feb 2020 Plumber.

I would recommend getting professional advise on your situation. As much are you are not sure you definitely want to go, if it is an option it may be worth exploring it and gaining a visa then at least that way you do have the option for the future. Age and lots of other matters make it more impossible as the years pass. good luck with your decision, if you can spare some cash and energy I would definitely explore all of your options.

We submitted our 190 on the 12th February

It came through this morning

I knew there were different quotas but didn’t think about the possibility of different teams. I know there will be a limited quota for different occupation that’s why I thought it was unfair for them to have applied after me and get an invite quicker on the same occupation. Anyway what will be will be and speaking about it won’t make a difference. It’s hard when you are in limbo. Thank you for your input.

They have been inviting 491s within their processing times and one plumber that applied after us (but with a 491). I really hope it’s soon!

Thank you for your reply. I guess patience is what is required. I suppose I’m just starting to panic a little and was wondering if anyone else was in a similar situation. This new visa seems to have totally changed the way things are done.

We are currently awaiting an invitation from SA for a 190, - plumber 65 + 5. We submitted our EOI on 15th November and not heard a thing. Is anyone else at a similar timeline to us? The annoying thing is other who have submitted just before us heard much sooner than this. Any advise would be greatly appreciated I’m starting to worry a little. They have since totally raised the points for the 190 to a minimum of 95 point. Our agent has said they will treat our application with the criteria that was expected on he date we applied.

We submitted 15th nov and still waiting, 190 though

I seen someone had today. Plumber who submitted EOI 4th dec

7 weeks plumber and 75 points on 13th dec and I can’t remember where I seen the other one but it was the last Friday before Christmas

Do they don’t have any trend on invites then? Certain days of the week or month? Must just have been coincidental that 2 people I know hot invited on a Friday?

Yes we are. Current average wait times are 12 weeks for us but I’ve heard of so many that were invited much earlier I though we might have been one of the lucky ones!

Good luck Emma, I have never seen anyone wait this long. Did you have to pay the full amount again due medicals? So frustrating for you when we have seen people recently get their grants within a couple of months.

Can I ask what visa you were applying for, your points you occupation please? We are 190 for plumber with 70 points so trying to look at comparisons. Thanks

The costs have increased a little as we are just going through the process just now. My husband is the main applicant and a plumber and we are a family of 5. skills assessment 3000 pounds for stage 1 and 2 I’m not sure if this varies for different occupations. my husband had to do a first aid course for his skills assessment this was a couple of hundred pounds. visas for a family of 5 are to be 5225 pounds. agent 2600 pounds pte exam 155 per shot (we have had quite a few) we have not done our medical or police checks so have not looked into the price of these if they have increased. The costs are fairly stacking up and I believe it’s getting more expensive every year. We employed an agent in June. We dragged our heels a little with the first stage of the skills assessment which was for us creating a portfolio of my husbands work, it was just bad timing with our holidays and he had a lot of time off work booked at that period or else we could have got this done quicker. He also had to get all of his employment evidence, evidence of pay ect which wasn’t too tricky as he has had one long term employment rather than a few. He got this handed in at the end of August start of September and passed fairly quickly after that, maybe 10 days for his positive outcome for stage 2. He has a date for 31st October for stage 2. Hopefully this is also a positive outcome then we are ready to submit our EOI. Are you doing a joint application? The skills assessments could be fairly pricey. I would think your husband would definitely have to do it as he is an electrician which like a plumber I believe to be a licensed trade in Australia and will require gap training over there. Amy

Johndoug thank you for your reply, we do have an agent and my husband is booked for the 2nd stage of the skills assessment in a couple of weeks so all in hand. He is a plumber I just wanted to make sure I had got my head around the waiting process correctly.
