  1. I just hope we get there! This process is so draining! The English is so annoying and un-realistic! I’m just going to crack on and try and obtain the English scores! [emoji27]
  2. My agent has stated different. Without the English I score 65 points. The new changes enables my wife to claim 5 points as she has a skill and holds a UK passport?
  3. Being that myself and my wife are native English hopefully would enable us to dodge the English? I’m worried that with 65points I won’t have priority and will constantly be put at that bottom of the pile
  4. Hi, I’m currently sat at 55 points and looking to get 5 points for nomination by SA and 5 points for partner holding a UK passport =65 points in total. My agent has told me that I can apply for SA under the subclass 190 as SA are inviting under 65points. Has anyone got some info on this? Feel like it’s too good to be true. I’m a plumber with 10 years experience and partner a hair dresser with 8 years. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
  5. That’s very helpful, thanks a lot! I am going to be in the plumbing trade so will be everywhere I would have thought so proximity to work won’t be an issue I don’t think [emoji848]. What are your thoughts on aldinga?
  6. Thanks for your response, we are intending on getting into a Holliday renal and scouring the areas! Job depending. Was just after the places to avoid really. Appreciate the time taken to respond. [emoji1360] thanks
  7. Hello all, I’m looking for some areas in Adelaide that would suit me and my family. My main concerns are arriving and living in a rough area? Can anyone advise me on area names to avoid and also areas to settle. Myself wife and two children aged 6 and 5. Thanks in advance
  8. I may be wrong but sure you would have to do a practical skills assessment, stage 1 of the skills is submitting the relevant paperwork like you have stated. Stage 2 is the practical and technical interview. I’ve sat the IELTS twice, both with unsuccessful results. Going to sit in another time and then try the Pearson’s. I’m a gas engineer predominantly but do still do plumbing both only in the commercial sector of the Industry. I’m a little nervous as it’s all domestic. I have been told there is nothing to worry about though. My skills is in Blackburn [emoji33]
  9. Hi mate, I’m currently on 55 points also, doing the skills assessment with vetassess. I’m sure tra are the governing body for vetassess? Depending on what visa I go for I’m hooting to have 75 points. If I score 8’s in the IELTS then I will go for the skilled migration. If I score 7’s I will go for the regional. Have you sat the IELTS yet?
  10. I’m a gas engineer also, fortunately I have 10 years plus my apprenticeship time. I’m not sure but they deducted a certain amount off for your training. You will most likely have to sit an IELTS English test to boost your points? I’ve got a skills assessment Wednesday! . Happy to answer any questions, I understand how frustrating it can be.
  11. Thanks for the advice, going to give the IELTS another shot as I have invested so much time and money into it. Going to give the Pearson’s a go if the result is again, unsuccessful! Good luck with everything [emoji1360]
  12. Amazing! I’m still at early stages, got skills assessment in sept but still require the points from IELTS!! Very frustrating. Then eoi how long did it take you from the stage I’m at?
  13. Ahhh you escaped the IELTS, good for you! Had you wife completed it yet? Absolute ball ache!
  14. Hi guys, anyone know of companies that service, repair, install gas catering equipment? I’m a commercial gas engineer looking for possible sponsorship. Can’t seem to find any companies that deal with this part of the trade? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
  15. Hi Matt, I’m also heading to Blackburn on the 18th of September. Like you I’m struggling to find info regarding the assessment, Have you had any luck?
