  1. @Westy123 that sounds promising! How did they make contact with your ex? was it by phone? I’m in the same situation so wonder if my ex has been contacted yet (we’re not on speaking terms!) We’re exactly 7 months since lodging application now, surerly cant be much longer x
  2. Congratulations! We’re still waiting, now on day 210 x
  3. We are still waiting too, lodged 19th June, CO contact us on the 12th October for form 80s. We front loaded medicals and police checks which run out in May! We still have a house to sell too, it’s going to be tight @Samlakin and @Westy123 I’m guessing you’ll get a direct grant any day if you’ve not heard anything yet xx
  4. Hi, We lodged ours on 19th June so I completely understand how your feeling! It seems like there are so many direct grants just now for August and even September, it surely can’t be much longer now, still holding out for a grant before Christmas Spoke to our agent yesterday and they said not to expect anything now till February but surely not?? I had put the whole thing to the back of my mind for a while but I’m back obsessing over it again.
  5. @WizardofOz2018 yes we front loaded everything apart from form 80s we got asked for them last month and submitted them on the 19th October so hoping we will hear back in the next couple of weeks, @Westy123 fingers crossed you should hear any day now! I’m assuming you’ll be heading over ASAP if you’ve sold up already?
  6. Has anyone had any updates recently? @Westy123 @Libs0808 We are still waiting for a grant, form 80s were sent back 36 days ago now, really hoping we hear back before Christmas!
  7. Yes it’s very annoying to say the least! We submitted form 80 on the 19th of October and haven’t heard anything since, just waiting and waiting some more. I really hope we hear back before everything close over Christmas
  8. I’m guessing it’s just the time it takes to fill in that they can’t be bothered with! Im hoping our agent gets them uploaded on Monday.
  9. I know I wish we had just insisted on filling it out at the beginning, never mind at least it’s a step forward I suppose. Anyone know how long after co contact most people get their grants? I’m hoping it’s before Christmas holiday time
  10. Just a little update we were contacted from a case officer yesterday on day 115, they asked for form 80s to be filled in, I’m actually so annoyed at this as I had asked my migration about these when we lodged our application and she said they weren’t required. So could have potentially had a direct grant yesterday but instead I’m guessing added another 8 weeks or so onto our wait
  11. Congratulations! Just saw, can’t sleep these days lol xx
  12. Good luck hopefully won’t take too long but I’m sure after co contact it’s usially another couple of months until grant. We are still waiting for ours, submitted on 19th June so hoping for a direct grant any day now, not had any requests for further info or docs etc so fingers crossed!
  13. Congratulations! We are on day 97 and hoping to hear any day soon for a direct grant ??
  14. Hi, We applied for a proof of employment history from HMRC, there’s an online form you can fill in. They send out a large document and I’m sure this shows all tax and national insurance contributions. I’m sure we only submitted bank statements for every couple of months, Your previous employers should be able to provide you with P60 or maybe a P11D, if not HMRC should be able to.
  15. We are waiting for our 190 NSW too with my husband as main applicant First Class Welder the application was lodged on 19th June with all documents front loaded just need to get my sons police check done as he just turned 16 this week! I check every day too really need to stop it ? !
  16. Hi everyone, We have lodged our 190 application in June and front loaded all our documents including medicals and police checks as advised by our migration agent. I had asked the MA about form 80 and was told that we probably won’t be asked for it as we are from the uk so a low risk country and had never worked abroad either. So my question is has anyone had a direct grant without submitting form 80?? thanks! ?
  17. Congratulations! Knew you wouldn’t be waiting much longer. ? We’re still patiently waiting ...... When are you hoping to make the move over?
  18. Hi, I feel your pain! Is English your husbands first language? I think this was the most stressed we’ve both been through the whole process. I’m not sure how my husband done it tbh as he didn’t do much studying at all and crammed it all in a week before. We spoke to a tutor who was a previous marker for IELTS who gave us some tips and if needed we would’ve paid for some tutoring but luckily he passed first time. One thing they pick up on us spelling and punctuation which my husband is terrible at but one thing in his favour is he writes everything in block capitals so the tutor said that would help for the use of capitals letters in the correct places ? We only needed a band 7, the one section he didn’t get an 8 on was the listening which was the section he’d done a few practice tests on as this part I think the spelling is important. I’m not sure what advice to give but to do loads of practice tests, and don’t lose hope, if he doesn’t get it first time keep trying I’m sure he’ll get it eventually. I felt exactly like you that this whole process was going to fail because of a stupid English test which is so infuriating as native English speakers and I’ve see some people get band 8 and 9 and can’t even string a sentence together!
  19. I’m sure you won’t be much longer, any day now! When did you submit further docs? We submitted 15th June all documents apart from form 80, really hoping we get a direct grant without having to fill in that form, looks like a headache to fill in.
  20. It’s things like this that make me worry about coming to Australia and what healthcare we will need, we take it for granted that we can just call 999 and get an ambulance if we need it, without worrying how much it will cost ? Do people think it would maybe be worthwhile just putting money by instead of having additional private health insurance?? Is it common for workplaces to offer private health insurance, dental cover etc?
  21. My mistake ours are both “no trace” had myself panicking there lol ?
  22. My husbands and mine were both “no live trace” neither of us have any criminal convictions so I assumed that was a good thing?! What does yours say?
  23. So we’re all about the same time then, let’s hope there’s no CO contact and we get direct grants. I’m not sure if it’ll speed things up or not but our agent suggested to front load everything so we did! We were hoping to make the move Dec/Jan too to make the new school year so fingers crossed ??, and hopefully our house sells quickly too!
