  1. Just a little update, my husband got his positive result through today! 20 days wait. He also got his IELTS result too so EOI will hopefully going in soon, good luck next week with your PTE ?
  2. Hi Horsemad, Thats great news for you! Bet your happy with that. We could’ve done with the extra points boost too but we’ll settle for the 7s, we’re just waiting for the skills assessment to be sent over should be any day now, just need to get consent form 1229 to get signed from my eldest father and we’ll be ready to submit our EOI something next week hopefully. I’m hoping that’s the hardest part over now and just need to get used to the waiting game. Keep us updated with your progress ?
  3. Thanks! Yes it’s only band 7 we needed for the 10 points ??
  4. Update Only needed band 7 and he got the results of the IELTS, overall 8! So pleased ? Listening 7.5 Reading 8.0 Writing 8.0 Speaking 8.0
  5. Hi Waris, My husbands technical interview was fine, the assessor gave him a positive feedback so no problem at all, so just waiting on the official confirmation. Should be any day now. Waiting on the IELTS results which he gets tomorrow, think this could take a few attempts as my husbands not confident at all ?, will keep you updated! Good luck with the interview
  6. Yes we had looked at this but they only increase the time which he doesn’t feel would make much difference, they also require evidence from a doctor within the last 2 years! He was diagnosed as a child so not sure how to have this re-done. Just feel like it’s extremely harsh, when it’s only the spelling that he struggles with. He’s going to give it a couple of tries and then will probably give the Pearson test a go too, all the time and money we’ve put in so far and this is all we’re waiting for to put in our EOI so he’s feeling a lot of pressure and worries it’ll end in us not being able to emigrate ?
  7. My husband has his IELTS this Saturday and is really worrying about it, he has dyslexia and is finding he’s loosing out on lot of marks for spelling mistakes. We need band 7 on all levels to get the 10 points we needs for the visa. All the studying in the world won’t improve his spelling, is there any hope for us!? Worrying this will end is us not being eligible for a visa ? Anyone in the same position managed to get the marks they needed?
  8. Great thanks Cal and Pom queen! So would you suggest he goes back to school when we arrive, and try for an apprenticeship that way?? Might be a good way to integrate and make friends? I’ll have a good look through the link etc x
  9. Hi Kelly, I’m pretty sure as a teacher you need the academic version of the ielts but dont quote me on that! I think to claim the partner skills your husband will also need to do an English test but just general and his skills will need to be on the same list as yours and have his skills assessed by vetassess. My husbands a welder and we’re applying for the 190 NSW, just done his skills assessment yesterday and ielts booked for Saturday, so fingers crossed for the results then our EOI will be going in the next few weeks! Good luck x
  10. I’m looking for some information on options for my son when we move to Oz, he will be 16 and will have completed his national 5 qualifications. He is hoping to get a building trade apprenticeship either bricklayer or joiner, or study something similar at college. what would be the best way to do this? Would his National 5 qualifications be enough to either get an apprenticeship or into TAFE or would he be required to go back into school? anyone with any previous experience in this situation I’d love to hear from you! thanks
  11. Aw great well done! That’s a long wait, bet your glad that’s that stage over with. I’m currently sitting in the office waiting patiently for him to finish the interview. Next step is English test which is on Saturday! Whats your next step?
  12. Thanks, I’ve sent a quote over on the website now ? Measurements are (cm) L63, H60, W14 L70, H62, W14
  13. He does say plus quarantine fees, so I’m assuming their paid on top of that. Which companies did you get quotes from so I can have a look around? Thanks
  14. Great thanks for that, they are both quite small whippets only 20lb each, not sure of their measurements but I’ll check and get a quote done and book them in for the rabies work soon.
  15. Great thanks for the info! Wow that’s quite expensive, I was hoping to pay about that for both of them ? do you know if the cost is done by weight or size or both?? Do the dogs travel together or separate do you know? Think I’ll book my 2 in for the rabies soon then may as well get it done then that’s it out of the way.
  16. Hi, I’m just looking for a rough estimate to transport our 2 whippets from Scotland to Perth. Including any fees for rabies vacs or any other costs that are incurred. Also what timeline do you advise for any vaccines. We are still in the early stages of the visa process and just looking to get some figures! Any help or advice would be appreciated! thanks
  17. Hi everyone, we are in the early stages of our visa process, and hoping to move to WA. I’m looking for suggestions of the best areas for job opportunities for my husband, he his a welder (first class) and works in the oil and gas industry on high pressure pipe work. Which areas would give us the most opportunities? Have been keeping an eye on seek but mostly fabrication jobs that come up, Any help or information on nice suburbs would be great! We have 3 children 7,9 and 15 so somewhere with good schools too. thanks!
  18. Hi Waris, We are at the same stage as you, my husband has completed the first stage of the skills assessment. We paid for the interview on the 6th February and got the interview date through last week for the 18th April so took longer than we expected! We are using VETASSESS and applying for 189/190 Welder (First Class) with 60/65 points. We also have the IELTS test next week too!
  19. Ok thanks, that’s what I was thinking, just need to wait it out for the 190 then I suppose.
  20. Thanks for your reply Stormy, that doesn’t sound great, definitely don’t want to go down the temp visa route ? I’m just looking to see if anyone is getting an invite with 60 points, we haven’t submitted our EOI yet so any info on visa grants or invites would be appreciated.
  21. Hi everyone, I’m looking for any information anyone can give on the timeframe for a visa grant with 60 points or 65 with state sponsorship. I’ve heard that they are only accepting people who have 70+ points, so are we in for a long wait?? anyones experiences applying with 60/65 points would be grateful. My husband is the main applicant he’s a welder (first class) he has the final part of his skills assessment next week and also the English test too. So will hopefully be lodging EOI soon. thanks!
  22. Hi Tasha, my husbands a welder (first class Anszco 322313) and is having his skills assessed by vetassess, the first stage was gathering lots of evidence from previous employers, bank statements, references etc which took us ages! The second stage is a technical interview which is done via Skype and covers all aspects of his job and he has to get a minimum score of 73 to pass this, if successful he gets the Australian certificate 3 qualification. I’m not sure if a joiner is along the same lines or not sorry?!
  23. One step closer. Got our date through this morning for 18th April! ?
  24. Fingers crossed for you! Our agent has contacted them a couple of times they’re assuming the hold up is just trying to arrange a suitable assessor, just need to wait I suppose
