  1. I was told that the Queensland 489 means it’s region which means that you can only live in certain postcodes in Queensland and it excludes Brisbane and Gold Coast area
  2. Hi yeah it was a waste of time I didn’t realise that it changed to a 489 visa which has restrictions as to were you live in Queensland. Have decided to hire a vis agent and put 190 in for nsw hopefully that gets things moving.
  3. It’s an invite for a 489 cause Queensland don’t do the 190. I found out the information about settlement funds etc. However I am worried about my work as I have always worked part time and I read somewhere that you need 4 months full time. My head is a bust ball ?
  4. Hi can someone please shed some light. I submitted a 190 state nomination EOI as I was not having much luck with 189. Received a invite this am ? although I a little unsure of process as I spent my time originally researching the 189. They have asked for some documents some I understand ie. skills assessment etc but not sur what a statement of service entails also a commitment statement and also bsmq settlement funds form are for. Please help as I have 14 days and want to get it right. Thanks
  5. Hi all after reading about other people’s experiences I have submitted a EOI for 190 visa. Am I right in thinking the rest of the process is the same as the 189 visa. ie. I wait for invite then submit application with all documents needed? Or is there anything I am missing? Also does anyone know how long I might wait for an invite? Sorry have mabey repeated myself but going demented waiting for news ? i am a registered nurse with 65 points thanks
  6. Hi there is that 8-11 months for whole process or just to get an invite. I am a nurse with 65 points for Queensland thanks
  7. Thanks reubs2016 do you know when they are likely to start inviting 60/65 pointers again. I noticed a trend last year when the invites were all for 70/75 points then they started with 60 points again. I am hoping it will be soon but don’t know if I am being too optimistic. Thanks
  8. Does anyone know when the next January invite round will be thanks
  9. Hey i am a general registered nurse. You need a minimum of 60 points but better if you can get more. first you need to do an English exam (ielts) then you need to get a skills assessment this will be via anmac ( this is the equivalent of nmc) then an expression of interest to the oz government. It is a long process and the tests and assessment have expiry dates so don’t do them until you are ready to get this moving. Hope this helps best to read the online info
  10. Hi I only have 60 points and will not be able to get more until August 2018 so it’s a waiting game. Does anyone know why the occupation ceiling for reg nurse is so high yet so little invites have been given? I am hoping that once the 65pointers get through I might.
  11. Hi kala yes I also wanting to go Queensland. So I guess that’s not going to work with state sponsorship. No don’t have job I have no idea when I will get a visa so didn’t see the point in applying until I am closer to that. I seen that the occupation ceiling is quite high and nowhere near that number of invites have been given so hopefully it is just a waiting game. Thanks for your reply as this part has been the most stressful so far.

  14. Hi there i submitted my EOI on 27/11/17 I have 60 points and am a nurse who works in emergency care. I haven't received an invite yet. Is this normal? Does anyone know where snouts nurses stand in terms of need/ requirement. Or any idea how long I could be waiting kind regards
  15. Yeah I got 1 at 8 2 at 8.5 and 1 at 9 I believe that if you get a minimum of 8 across all 4 sections that gives you the 20 points, that's what the government website said anyway.
  16. Thanks for the info on family members. sorry got points mixed up I claiming 25 for age 20 for English and 15 for education. Any info on waiting times or chances of being invited would be appreciated regards pauline
  17. Thank you Russell another question I did the ielts again and have 60 points. Submitted my EOI on the 24th November does anyone know my chances of getting a invite and rough timeframe. My point are from English-20 education 25 and age 15. I am a nurse. Also on the expression they ask how many people will be on your visa mine was 5 my hubby and four kids does this rank me more unfavourable than someone with less. Thankyou

  20. Hi all would appreciate any help on offer. I am unsure if you can claim points for both having a degree and also having a qualification recognised by the authority( anmac) if I can claim points for both it means I have enough points without having to do another ielts test. Thanks
