  1. The Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast in QLD both have universities.
  2. No chance with 80 points for 189 mate. 90 points for a 190 gives you a good chance though. This page is useful for invitation estimates: https://www.iscah.com/will-get-189-invite-updated-predictions/
  3. Chances with 80 points for a 189 are very, very slim. 491 would be your best bet if you qualify.
  4. No worries! It seems like most things are completely random when it comes to applying for visas
  5. That is not correct. The state nomination piece took 3 days. To make this clear: Waited 1 month after EOI submission to receive NSW invite. Waited 3 days for NSW to approve the nomination Currently waiting on visa decision
  6. 190 NSW, 241111, 80 points. 3 days was the time taken for state nomination approval. Not the visa processing time.
  7. Correct. However, the original post in this thread specifically mentions NSW.
  8. That's not correct. It may be the case for other states, but not for NSW. 2 months ago, I received NSW sponsorship for a 190 while living in QLD.
  9. We would like to be able to buy a house/townhouse - not looking to raise kids in an apartment. We'd be looking to stay on the North Shore.
  10. Hi all We are considering whether to make the move from Brisbane to Sydney. We have no kids, but are looking to start a family soon. Can anyone who has lived in both cities comment on the difference in cost of living and quality of life between the 2 cities? Anyone who has lived in Sydney - are you able to comment on how expensive it is to live in Sydney? Thanks!
  11. Can you post a link/screenshot of where you found this information?
  12. Hi @Caps23 - my company used an immigration agent who handled the whole process.
  13. Hi all I'm currently on a 457 in QLD. If I obtain a 190 for NSW, how soon after grant date do I have to move to NSW? Thanks Jelly
  14. Hi all I received an invitation to apply for NSW nomination for a subclass 190 visa today. Assuming there are no issues with providing documentation/evidence, am I guaranteed of getting an invite from the Department of Home Affairs for a 190 visa if NSW nominates me? Also, will I receive an invite from the Department of Home Affairs on the same day that the NSW nomination comes through, or will this be some time after? Thanks Jelly
  15. http://www.iscah.com/iscah-unofficial-skill-select-results-11th-april-2019/ According to the above link (estimated results for the April 2019 skillselect invitation round), less than 300 invites were issued in this round. Non pro-rata occupation needed 85 points for an invite. This is getting ridiculous. Does anyone know why this is? Is this likely to continue?
  16. Best tip I can give is to focus on fluency. Don't worry about content too much.
  17. For anyone interested, I just transferred my 457 to a new sponsor and it took 20 days.
  18. Thank you so much for the clarification Alan ?
