Melbourne is at risk of becoming “unliveable’’ within a decade while regional Victoria will languish in recession unless a comprehensive plan is developed to encourage more people to live and work outside the city

Never turn up to a BBQ empty handed If you are invited to a BBQ in Australia, whether at a house, park or beach, never turn up empty handed. Whether you make a salad dish, provide some meat for the BBQ, bring dessert, or bring some booze to go around (a bottle of wine or champers are excellent options), always turn up with a little something as a helping hand and thanks.

Kareela is a lovely quiet and family friendly suburb located just off the Princes Hwy in the Sutherland Shire. It is bordered by Sylvania, Kirrawee and Oyster Bay and a lot of the homes have lovely water views or bush views. The shopping centre has been recently renovated and has everything you need, including cafe's and takeaway and a couple of restaurants. The local primary school is one of the best in the area. Many of the houses are currently undergoing renovations as the original owners have sold and downsized and new families have moved in. Most of the homes are very large, with some great architecture on display. With regular bus service to Jannali and Miranda, transport is easy and it's a very safe place for children. Approx 30-40 mins drive into the CBD and 10-15 mins to the beach.

Even if I can’t afford to buy my own place yet, that’s fine, but it would mean my finances are in order if I could afford to rent on my own

A great view and a great experience.. a tad tiring though. While everyone encourages you to take the Bus out of Melbourne for a day drive on the Great Ocean Road, please take this advice with a pinch of salt. The Great Ocean Road is a great drive and a great view with some very interesting hot spots slog the way.Just don't rush through it.A bus drive will touch all the nice points along the way but that is all it achieves. A 10 hour seating experience is not the best way to explore this great yet simple feat of infrastructure that make this planet so much more interesting. Add leisure to it. Add some rest along the way. Add a night stay somewhere along the route and explore it refreshed all the time.

I use Sorbent and I would recommend this brand

Wolli Creek, Turrella could be the good choices for you. Very close to the airport, both by train and car. 20 minutes driving to Bondi Junction. Very family friendly as well.
