  1. Thank you @taraken this really helps, I think we’ll apply for the 600 and sit tight. Apart for the no work rights is there anything that has been tricky having your husband on the 600 visa?
  2. @taraken thanks for your reply. Can I ask what visa you applied for your husband and how long it was granted for? I’m really wary of applying for the 600 as I’m not a genuine visitor and I’m also worried about having to leave Australia if it runs out (lack of flights, quarantine etc).
  3. If I had the visa I wouldn’t need an exemption. On my Immi account it says they are prioritising processing visas for those that are exempt from current travel bans. How will they know who is exempt without people applying and being granted an exemption? The time frame is currently 16-22 months. Yes I should be patient however various reasons mean we need to travel to Australia ASAP.
  4. Hi all, I applied for another travel exemption last night had this reply within 5 hours. I’ve completed my medicals, uploaded police checks for my husband and me, filled out the sponsors application and attached all the relevant documents. Could anyone shed some light on the ‘legal requirements’?
  5. Hi, I applied for a travel exemption last night in a hope that it might speed up my visa application. I received this email this morning. I have had my medicals and uploaded police checks for my husband and me. Attached all relevant docs and completed the sponsors application. Any ideas what we could have missed? Thanks in advance.
  6. I updated my updated my application on the 21st December so I don’t think last updated means that someone looked at it.
  7. Yes both kids are dual citizens they are included in the application as immediate family members but not included as migrating members of the family unit in the application as they don’t require a visa. Hope that makes sense.
  8. Hi, I have as it’s one of the documents on my immi account.

  10. Queensland are charging however if you had a confirmed travel date before the 17th June you will not have to pay. There are rumbles that other states could follow suit.
  11. As a holder of a 309 you do not need to apply for the exemption to travel. Not sure about them extending the entry by date though.
  12. @Cowact Hi, I applied for my exemption on Sunday. Obviously no news yet but thought I’d drop in to update. Decided to not apply for a visitor visa but hopIng that the exemption tiggers my partner visa to be looked at.
  13. Hi everyone, I applied for my exemption Sunday but haven’t applied for the 600 visa as I’m hoping it’ll trigger my partner visa to be looked at. checking various forums and ImmiAccount too many times a day and hoping no news is good news .
  14. @Tmduk this is fantastic news I’m applying for my exemption on Sunday as our flights are booked for September 14th. @Shaggylom keeping everything crossed for you.
  15. @Tmduk I’d apply for the exemption as your planned travel is within 3 months. When I log into my immi account is says they are prioritising the processing of visa for those in the exempt category.
  16. @Tmduk I agree. It’s so frustrating seeing approvals from visas submitted this year. I assume that received means that it hasn’t been looked at but who knows what’s going on behind the scene. @Shaggylom how interesting, perhaps your visa is now being looked at? When do you plan to travel. Please keep us updated with your progress.
  17. @Aussiebird as a citizen and a partner visa holder neither of you need an exemption to travel to Australia. https://covid19.homeaffairs.gov.au/coming-australia
  18. My understanding on the exemption is that it isn’t a visa but that it allows immediate family members travel on the visitor visa subclass 600. It also states in the home affairs website that they are prioritising processing the visas of those who in the exemption category.

    When to go?

Taken from home affairs website: If you hold a current a Partner visa (subclasses 100, 309, 801 and 820) you are exempt from the travel restrictions. You do not need to contact the Department and will be permitted to travel. https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-support/departmental-forms/online-forms/covid19-enquiry-form
  20. Hi, I don’t have answer as such - I applied for my partner visa September 2019 and it still shows as received, no case officer or requests for information. We also plan to head to Australia in September so I am going to apply for the exemption to travel and then a visitor visa but I don’t know if this will be successful.
