  1. Thank you, fantastic! Yes I see your point, I'm only writing in there what I'd be writing in my statement really. I'm just basically writing paragraphs about our relationship, what we do, how we shared household, childcare and financial costs, and I hope that's sufficient, but then I don't want to ramble on and then they read it and it's not right! Thanks, will search that form! [emoji5] Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
  2. Hi All, I've just got to page 18/27 on the Partner visa application form, and now it's about financial aspects, Nature of household etc..just wondering how much people actually wrote?? It says 2000 characters per section, and I guess the more the better, but I don't think I have that much to write, if I'm just writing about the facts! Also, how do I get hold of the forms that friends and family need to fill out? Thank you, any help/advice on this part is very much appreciated. Sent using Poms in Oz mobile app

  7. It's so hard isn't it! My little one will miss my parents so much! I trust them 100% with her too, and she trusts them too, she's pretty shy si I'm wondering how she will be towards my partners parents, I really can't see them having her anytime soon! I've only just been able to leave her with my parents for two hours a week! My stomach sinks sometimes when I think about taking her away from then, but then in some ways I can't wait to go! It's a hard one hun. His mum is a bit full on though and keeps asking when she can have her though! Yes the outdoors life is fantastic, I've really missed it! Ah Melbourne's lovely, partners sister lives there. We are moving to just outside Cairns In far North Queensland. Xx Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz

  9. This sounds similar to my situation! I'm leaving in August, with my daughter who will be 18 months by then! My partners Australian, and of course all his family are out there, but I'm dreading leaving mine! His parents are in there late 60's and mid 70's, and nine are in their late 50's, and they're more active with my daughter so I totally get that! I feel sad that my parents will miss it all, after building such a good bond with her (she was Born in oz and lived there for 5 months) but I know it's the best thing for us all. I'm moving it forward and going in Aug because I don't want her to understand too much and miss too much. So I'll follow this post! Can't give much advice other than, Skype, as many visits as you can, think of the positives and what a great future your children will have, and look forward to your new life out there. But I totally get how you are feeling! Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
  10. Hi, if you've been apart for the last 12 months or so, it's still possible to apply. You'd need to provide copies of phone bills, bank accounts, if you've shared finances or transferred money to one another, cards/mail sent between the two of you, that kind of thing. He can't sponsor himself, you'd need to sponsor him as the AU Citezan. I was told that a sponser needs to prove that they would be financially capable of supporting the other person if it came to it. I'd check this out with immigration for clarification. Hope this helps. Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
  11. Hi, my partner and u have been living apart for almost 12 months, but he came to England to stay with myself and our daughter for 3 months out of that year. I had to come back due to family issues. As far as I was told my a migrant adviser, as long as you can produce phone bills with your calls to each other, any cards, text messages, facebook posts, tickets from your holidays etc, that will be in place of living together. This is what I was told, but I will be interested to see what others say, as I am still researching myself! Hope this helped a little! Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
  12. Sorry, just re-read your original reply, 3 months is brilliant. With a bit of luck it'll go pretty fast for us too, but if not, Bali it is lol. Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
  13. Congrats! Brilliant news. [emoji5] yes I'm thinking Bali and NZ too. Excuse for a couple of holidays I guess! Lol. Did you just wait offshore then? How long did it take? Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
  14. Also, what is a Reccie please? Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
  15. Hey Beffers, can I just ask, where did you travel to every 3 months, and how long for? Did it work out pricey? Going to take this route, so just wondering, working out tickets wise. Hoping to get application in for end of May! Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
  16. Congrats! Wow just a couple of months, amazing!! X Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
  17. As far as I am aware, you are able to get a tourist visa more than once, so it should be possible to get one year after year. I had a friend who did this to visit her sister. You could get the Evisitior visa which lasts 12 months, but you need to leave Australia ever 3 months, too. Hope this helped a bit! Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
  18. Hi, thank you. Even six months would be great, as it currently says up to 16 months on their website. So I'd be happy with that! Waiting on partner to forward to details so that I can move onto the next page of the application. I have decided to take advice given to me here, and apply offshore. Then I will probably go in September on the tourist visa in the meantime. My only other option was applying onshore on the tourist visa, but that seems a bit risky now. 19. Hi all, So is everyone who is applying recently getting their visas within a few months then? I am playing for mine off shore within the next month or so and I'm wondering how long it would take as I would like to be out in Australia by September Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
  20. Oh I've only just seen this full message. Yes, legitimate reasons for being apart, I had to come back for family reasons soon after the baby was born. My partner also came over for 3 months and stayed with me within that year. He's been supporting us financially, so we will prove that with statements, we have cards, messages etc back and forth, so I will try to upload all of those. So hopefully that'll be enough, in terms of that. The fact he came to stay with us for 3 months speaks volumes I think. Yes, I most likely seek more advice from a different migrant agent. I wish we had applied sooner, but we just simply couldn't afford it! Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
  21. Hi all, I've had some really helpful comments and I have decided that I'm going to lodge my partnership application offshore, and then use My visitor visa for my baby and I to go back to Australia in the meantime. I was just wondering from those that have had visas processed offshore recently, how long did it take? Many thanks in advance!! Sent using Poms in Oz mobile app
  22. Hi snifter I had a look at that link with processing times, and they are all from 2009 etc, are there any more up to date ones? Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
  23. Thank you! You've been so helpful, appreciate it. Yes I would hate them to think I've been a liar, so I've decided to apply here ASAP (as soon as partner hurries up with his details!) and then hopefully still travel in August in the meantime, everyone over there have their hopes up of seeing the baby now. Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
  24. Snifter how do I find that thread. I think I've made up my mind that I'll apply here, and then could I still go over in September on my tourist visa and wait there? I don't want to be deceitful and lie, it's not a good start lol and this is way to important to take risks. Wasn't aware of the costs possibly going up. Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
  25. Thank you. Yes I may just apply offshore in that case. I did also check out the processing time on the border website and it does say 17 months. I don't really want to take any risks. Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
