1. Just one vote?! The implications are huge. All of my savings are worth considerably less than they were before the vote. We don't know when/if the pound will recover and with the Aus economy being pretty stable I know which currency I'd like my wages in! Having said that it wasn't my motivation to move there although I can see it tipping the scales for people on the fence for sure!
2. I have seen plenty of people in these forums travelling on tourist visas to aus whilst they wait. I believe you must inform your C/O and if it is granted whilst you are in aus they notify you to leave the country. You must leave and re-enter to activate. I saw somebody say that their visa was granted just hours after they left the country. Understandable about starting a new term. Fingers crossed for you, I think Sep should be more than fine!
3. Probably something to do with Brexit the fact that it's so busy... I don't mind if mine's not granted by the time we leave for aus so long as they allow me a tourist visa as I'm happy to wait it out and have sufficient funds to do so. Might apply for my evistior visa now as they're valid for 12 months. At least I'll be able to make alternate plans if it gets rejected... Sorry, thinking aloud! Drinks all round tonight I think!
4. Thanks for the update, that's great you have a CO, must mean things are moving and, in theory, should mean I have one too! Long processing time but as I said, I haven't seen anyone on here from the UK taking that long.
5. I sent them an email yesterday but if they don't come back it looks like a phone call could prove quite successful in obtaining at least a little news regarding case officers! Curious to know on the immiaccount if anyone knows what happens to document status after they have been marked as 'received'. All my uploads are green (received) and a few irrelevant sections are yellow (recommended). I keep looking at my immiaccount for change but not sure what I'd be looking for!
6. Yeah I've read you're supposed to wait on the websites but on forums people have said they front-loaded and all way well, I don't think there's a right or wrong way but medicals can take time to book if you aren't close to a doctor or need to take time off work like I did. If you have been waiting 3 months and medicals/police check last 12 then that will be 15 months so comfortably over the processing time. I haven't seen in any forums UK applications taking nearly as long as 14 months as the processing time suggests so I think you'd be safe if you chose to complete them. I've taken the risk and feel comfortable knowing its all done. Obviously this is just my opinion and the way I see it. If you are waiting more than 15 months I'd say you have been severely unlucky! An email definitely cant hurt- I think if you're within the processing time responses are quite standard but I have read on forums it prompted progress in some cases. Could be coincidence though!
7. We lodged our application on Oct 6th so a month behind you. Uploaded everything I can think of but going to upload more 'couples stuff' from the last few months today I think. It at least feels like progress! A guy I know on here lodged his early august and was granted his visa within 5 months so don't lose hope! I haven't been assigned a case officer either but went ahead with police checks and medicals. Rather pay twice if I have to than stall the application. Keep me updated with your progress
8. My medical undertaken in London was £290, my police check was £45 (10 working days).
9. Wow, that really sucks! And so not clear! I don't recall the Australian site telling people to refer to their own country site for more accurate information but I could be wrong. I am still hearing of applications being processed faster though so fingers crossed. I have booked to travel to Aus in July which is 9 months from application but only coming from Bali so if I can't get a tourist visa it's only a short flight back to wait it out!
10. I would have thought yours would be too! I looked at that link before and thought that only applied to applications through the London Embassy, not applications placed online, unless the online applications go through the London Embassy because I'm British?! I'm confused, I thought online and through the embassy were separate channels but perhaps not. What a blow if it's 10 -14 months!
11. Where does it say 10-14 months on the site? I thought LR countries lodged outside Aus were 5 months? Yeah I definitely understand that. There's a guy who applied a little before me and he's all done. Just wish the process was more transparent!
12. Can you tell me a little more about your application, where you're from and how you submitted? I'm British, Aussie partner lodged online in October so still well within the processing time. Just hate the waiting!
13. I think you're right. I am British, my partner is Aussie, we've been together almost 3 years, lived together officially for 19 months now but have had a few periods of separation during that time (family issues). Other than the separation there's nothing too complex about our application I don't think. Nice to know I can contact the European Service should I have any queries. Hopefully the processing times are still accurate, they seem to have been for you! All the best!

Can I ask a little more about how you applied? Online or embassy, where you're from and if you're married? I'm so anxious about everything it's making me grey! <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/sad.png" alt=":(" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/sad@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />

16. Fantastic news! Sorry if this has been asked before but did you apply online or at the embassy in London?
17. Blighty! So so happy for you! I've submitted everything I can think of but havent heard anything so far. I am 3 months in now. Still hopeful and your story has helped me feel a bit better! Congrats again!
18. Hi, Sorry if this is a silly question but I am seeing the same message "health examination provided - no action required" but cannot see the "Get Health Detail" button. Could you describe where this should appear for me and what happens when you click it? It's been almost a month since my medical and I got the "no action required" message just a few days after. On the "attach documents" page it says "health, evidence of" is still required- should this change? I hope everything worked out smoothly for you, how long did it take to get your visa granted? Thanks in advanced!
19. All this info relaxes me so much, I was worried it'd take months/years to be assigned a case officer but it seems as if things are moving relatively quickly for you, hopefully this bodes well for me too! I guess now that everything has been requested from them and sent by you that's all you can do! I have booked my medical for the 3rd of November, I'll get my police check done too I think... Please keep me updated and very best of luck, I hope they don't keep you too long!
20. Hi both, presumably you guys applied within Australia? Do you know if fingerprints will be required if lodged outside or is this something we do upon first entry? Thank you!
21. Can anyone give times frames on how long after submitting their application they were asked for their medical? A lot of the posts on here are a few years old so not sure if I can rely on the information. Also, when they are requested, how long do you have to complete them? I am going travelling in Feb for a couple of months and it would be a pain to arrange one in the middle of my trip! Thanks all.
22. Thanks for the info Blighty. Everything I have uploaded is marked as 'Received'. I assume this changes to accepted when somebody takes a look at it? As for the health check, it says on the documents page that it is 'recommended' and on the left side there is separate link named 'View Health Assessment'. When I click it it says "A medical is required for this application" and then gives details on how to arrange but I have read on forums that you should wait for your case officer to instruct you to get it so getting very mixed signals! Do you have this link on your immiaccount? Thanks in advanced for your help (again)!
23. Hi Blighty, Assuming your gf completed the 40sp from her own immi account, how long did this take to show up in your own account, we uploaded everything yesterday however on my parters document list is says 40sp is still required. Also, how long after completing the upload was it before they asked for a medical? Huge thanks for you help!
