  1. Thanks @Alan Collett have heard since you can go for a 870 visa IF you have already applied for 143 etc.,
  2. @SusieRoo your question re temporary parent visa and can you apply for parent visa ie 143/173 I have seen this online. But not sure if it’s ok if you are already awaiting a 143/173??? It says you can’t apply for parent visa whilst holding a valid 870
  3. Thanks @Amber Snowball Were you still a resident in the UK at the time ? thankyou
  4. 600 visa holders. can you advise of travel insurance companies from Oz to UK, I’ve realised mine has expired and I need ins to go back to the UK when my 12months is up They seem to say Australian resident only when I look online Many thanks everyone
  5. Yes, in 10 weeks, it has flown! Have parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers, so will be sofa surfing At this rate, it’s looking like I might have to do another run!
  6. Yourself and @Kush99. Roughly need to add another 6months for the next stage, making your visas well over 4yrs presume you have not had any requests for Aos,medical etc., Thats diabolical!! Doesn’t bode well for the rest of us
  7. It looks like the 600 visa for parents who would like to spend 12mths etc in Oz, will not be available from when the temporary parent one commences. Read below
  8. Think I would be chasing your Aos - seems to be 10mths waiting?? ridiculously long!
  9. https://www.sbs.com.au/yourlanguage/hindi/en/article/2019/03/01/new-temporary-sponsored-parent-visa-be-available-april new temporary parent visa starts this April. Hope it doesn’t slow down our applications ! then again it could take some out of the queue!? who knows!!
  10. parents@homeaffairs.gov.au just put a random letter in subject line though
  11. how strange. Maybe they are in chaos and have no idea whatsoever ,
  12. They have changed email to just state the month now as in “July” No actual date in that month.
  13. Go onto the parent visa thread page below you can read peoples signature timelines it gives you their timeline of visa from start to end etc eg when they started Aos and when they paid bond etc
  14. It’s more than a shame. It’s very annoying. Especially when if you change your mind for some reason you loose your deposit. They shouldn’t say 18-24months when it was never ever realistic! Then under issue visas by approx 1000 per year.
  15. this Is the link for above discussion paper https://www.sbs.com.au/yourlanguage/hindi/en/article/2018/12/21/australian-government-seeks-feedback-201920-migration-program https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/reports-and-pubs/files/discussion-paper-australias-2019-20-migration.pdf MERRY XMAS EVERYONE! GOOD LUCK FOR NEXT YEARS VISAS!
  16. This AoS lark and the massive delays at this stage of our visas makes my blood boil!!
  17. As of today’s date processing is:- 43-46 months for 143 and 173 good luck @David Leask and @Bev50Bradley
  18. If only we all knew where we were In that ever increasing queue!!
  19. Maybe similar income as AoS I would have thought. With the annual cost of private ins (mine is £800 per yr) it’s a very expensive visa. Especially when you can get a 600 valid for up to 3 yrs, makes me think they won’t issue any 600’s without the 12 in 18mth stay condition in the future. if it’s whilst you await a 143 I think it’s best to wait it out if you can or do a 600 in my opinion.
  20. I wonder if the approval of a sponsor will take Centrelink 6-8 mths like ours. If they get priorty it may possibly delay other Parent visas? Doubt they have extra staff for the 20000? they estimate may apply. However, it is good news though for those desperate to be with their families.
  21. @Alan CollettHi Alan can you post your news on the family violence bill being passed, relating to the new temp parent visa please. Many thanks
  22. I’m reading it as one calendar month but I’m not 100% sure! does anybody know please?
