This is my concern. Awaiting 2nd vac request. Im onshore so more of a problem than being offshore. I obviously want to stay in Oz for now. At least offshore you get 1yr to activate whereas I will have the 28 day condition. When I receive 2nd vac request will email them. Although wondering if they will slow down issuing it because of the ongoing situation.

@gafuk good to hear you are doing fine! Maybe the 143 was more attractive when it was only up to 2-3yrs wait but now it may stretch to 5-6-7yrs for some it’s a kick in the teeth when your getting older and paying a large amount. I’m still glad I’ve gone for it though as not having PR when you are older is a bit of an uneasy feeling for me. Who knows, if in a few years time, you may get sent home because you have become a burden to Oz financially through serious illnesses etc., who could cope with that scenario when you have built a life here.

Have changed all my money today ready for 2nd vac - $2 to gbp. After this CV crisis ceases the “Brexit effect” will come into the news again and probably lower the £. Happy with what I’ve got as this is the rate it was when I first applied in Mar 16!!

I would be slightly worried if you say you work a few hours, does this mean to them you are not totally independent? Might be worth spending a small amount of money for advice from a registered migration agent as none of us truly know. Otherwise you will just have to wait for Immi to approach you/your parents for relevant documentation etc.,

@SusieRoo I agree another page was ridiculous just because some were having strop about dates etc. After all it was relevant to this thread! Now some may miss out on advice, tips as may not have seen this page. I have blocked a few sarcastic quick tempered members. So if members are reading this post then I think you’re ok Haha. Really hope you here something soon. Can’t understand it.

They will rely on other people telling them that someone has come into Oz I suspect

Yes just read that. Trouble is some won’t! If I go out to activate visa and then come back, I will then have to hide away in my bedroom away from my family whom I live with for 14 days.

Makes me wonder if they will still stick to 28 day rule for anyone onshore to leave to activate visa. Who knows!?!?

Just a tip for when you get AoS approved. Send copy of approval letter to the pvcteam email address like it tells you to on the bottom of auto response email

I’m afraid you will just have to wait, as rules/advice changes daily. Look on health.gov.au for their updates. You could also contact pvc1team and ask. I was looking to fly out of Oz soon to activate my 143 but unsure yet as what will happen. I intend to contact them for advice nearer the time. At the moment they advise you not to leave Oz except for essential travel but nothing about anyone incoming from the U.K.

Yes it has happened to quite a few. It always gets sorted. Some choose to fill the SS351 form in rather than relying on a phone call- 3,181 replies

Like everything else in this process - all parts of it are done out of date order!.But also your application date is after mine and yet you were asked for further info weeks before me. So who knows maybe that’s why? The only thing we did a bit different was when we uploaded bond certificate to Centrelink we didn’t choose “other documents” then “Financial” like most see to have done. We chose “Centrelink form“ then scanned the code at top of their form. It then said upload bank certificate, so unsure if that helped speed it up. Pvc team also tell you to send copy of approval to them which we have today.

@Rosiejaq thanks Jacqui. Latest advice from smart traveller.gov.au is advising not to travel out of Oz! My daughter is already thinking of not travelling as we were staying with my Dad who is 87
