  1. Agree with others, that this is highly, highly unlikely.
  2. No idea but really I wouldn't bother at all. Personally I think Facebook messages smack of dating not defacto.
  3. Being forced to resign is indeed constructive dismissal, but OP said unfair dismissal and they are two different things and should not be mixed up. Having said that, I think forget it and put energy into something else, like finding a new job or planning the move back. Presumably they had a new legal employer (the Australian company) after they transferred and I would definitely think the clock would only count from then for these purposes.
  4. Yep I wm another that says you must go back. You will regret it for the rest of your life if you do not. Put the fare on a credit card, beg or borrow, but find it. In years from now, the strain on money will be forgotten, your dad, never.
  5. Not having the right to workbook Australia will be a huge hinderance to getting work. Generally. But it does vary by occupation, maybe you should test the water with a few employers and if it doesn't look promising, get the skills assessment before you set off for Asia.
  6. I do, but it wasn't clear if you only had them for a month or two? If you have plenty of this type of evidence, I would definitely focus on this and not photos and Facebook messages, the CO doesn't want to be drowning in that.
  7. I always said a "trip to the UK". Like somebody else mentioned, you say a trip home. Ultimately, I think your answer is in there. I returned to the UK in January, but it was to do with work. I was never homesick and quite sad to leave, but settling back has been easy too.
  8. Your ages are not important, but you look a bit light on joint address information. I really wouldn't go overboard with all the social media stuff and photos, it is not necessary and holds little weight.
  9. Yes used both Coles and Woolworths on line shopping and delivery service. It worked perfectly fine and the delivery slots were plentiful and would be something convenient for most people. I am am not sure why you mention Ocado in particular, as I understand that is just the Waitrose delivery service in UK? Or does it do something special? There isn't a supermarket equivalent of Waitrose, by that I mean upmarket and expensive..
  10. Clothes is a good idea, can be better quality in the UK and cheaper too, so I think worth making sure everybody has a wardrobe refresh. Other than that though, I always thought it is better to adapt to the products that are on offer in Australia, what you bring will soon run out anyway.
  11. I don't think it is that big, well it didn't seem to be when we visited last year. I would keep your options open, no need to limit yourself at this point.
  12. I never found much difference on day to day costs. I didn't analyse everything carefully and I don't think it is a good idea too, so generally swings and roundabouts. The exception is accommodation costs, be it renting or buying. But you can easily look those things up specifically and of course consider the areas you are interested in particularly.
  13. It was $8,000 for a 20 foot in January, stil on the sea. My quotes were between that and about $9k, this from Sydney.
  14. You need to have a skills assessment in the occupation you intend to apply under.
  15. Do you have a visa? I think making friends depends on the individual not the country. If you normally make friends easily then you will in Australia. If it normally takes you a bit of time, then it will in Australia.
  16. Would you be ok on about £200 per week in London after rent? It probably about the same.
  17. Start on the immigration website and read about the 189 visa. One of the first things you need to do is see if you can pass skills assessment, so maybe look into that too.
  18. I meant that you may need to go offshore until the visa is granted.
  19. He can come and go as he pleases for five years from the date of visa grant, so long as it is validated of course. And if you can prove three years of defacto relationship, then he will get the permanent visa straight away.
  20. Had no problem at all getting a rental without any references. I had not rented in the UK for 15 years before we moved.
  21. Don't know answer to your question sorry, but it seems to suggest that the removal company won't bring it to you, but will just leave it at the port? Have you thought about getting the full service? Makes life easier at this very stressful time.
  22. What do you mean by investigation? All visa applications are reviewed, but I have never considered it an investigation ... is there some specific process you are referring to beyond the usual review? You don't need to explain why you wish to withdraw the application, no.
  23. But the entire process takes much longer. IELTS, skills assessment, waiting for invitation etc all take time and need to be done consecutively. So no way will OP get a visa in four weeks.
