  1. Yes you do need to do it all online. But I can assure you it is so much easier this way. It keeps everything together and you can see everything you've done at a glance. The first thing we did was go out and buy a decent printer/scanner/copier. It has paid for itself during this process no problem. In terms of the certified docs, we did scan, print, certify and scan again. Easy with the new machine.
  2. No Melibios, we haven't heard anything other than the acknowledgment email, so not to worry. I'm quite an impatient person so not ideal for me, but we have a 6 month old to take our mind off things.
  3. Hi we have not long submitted online, after spending some weeks filling in forms on paper. It was so much easier online and it is simple to track your progress while you compile your application. You only submit when you are happy with your form and when you have all of your evidence ready to upload. It will prompt and guide you to upload your documents afterwards. It is very easy to navigate, just follow the online checklist after you submit the form. You have about a fortnight to upload everything. Regarding the stat decs, we got 6 of the 888 forms from Oz folks but it only asks for 2 so I'm sure 3 Stat Decs will be enough. For the UK ones, we got a standard UK stat dec form, changed it slightly and got some friends to sign with a countersigned by police officers and a pharmacist. Your passports, birth certs, etc should be certified. We got the local councillor to sign. He did it for free. Our solicitor would have charged. Hope that helps.
  4. I applied online and the application status does say 'In Progress' so as you say Bungo, they could be already on it. I suppose it is the Easter holidays too so that might slow things a bit. Its terrible, I'm just a few days in and have already lost patience.... God only knows what I'll be like in six months.
  5. Folks How long did it take for a case officer to start work on your application? We applied nearly three weeks ago and have not seen any movement. Is that unusual or pretty standard. Thanks
  6. I have begun uploading some documents and have not really followed the guidelines in the link below to the letter. For example some of my file names have spaces, and there is one file type that I uploaded that is not on the list (.png) https://www.immi.gov.au/Services/Pages/attach-documents-online-application.aspx
  7. You bet it does!!! I'm sure I was 21 last year, now I'm turning 40 ha ha!!
  8. Hopefully I will get all my documents uploaded by the end of this week and I will get some contact with my CO so I can let you know.
  9. im not too experienced here but it must be related to the amount of applications received at that time. The fact that the time has come down now is most probably due to the drop off in numbers of applications following the surge just before the price hike. If I get my visa in 12 months, that will do me just fine.
  10. After what seems like an eternity pulling it all together we submitted and paid for my Visa Application yesterday. The initial auto generated email said 9-12 months wait time. We are in the process of submitting all of the evidence we have gathered, so the next week or two will be hectic I'm sure... I will keep tabs on things through this thread as things progress. Cheers

  12. I have referred to several social events in our life so I plan to have one document per event with a few pictures. Possibly showing people in our statements and stat decs. How have others used Facebook as evidence? Screenshots or full access to the account?
  13. I totally understand the need for more documents but I think our case is pretty straightforward so ideally we can keep it to less than 60 documents between us. I plan to combine photos into one PDF with multiple pages up to 5mb, so that will take care of the million and one pics we plan to use.
  14. Thanks engaus. I assume we need to submit the main application before the sponsor form. It gets to the third or fourth page and says it doesn't recognise the associated main application.
  15. Hi Folks We are submitting the form online (offshore partner visa) and I have completed my form online as the main applicant. Does my wife, my sponsor, complete the form on my Immi account or does she need to put it through an account of her own? Thanks
  16. I would suggest you contact an agent. I found that asking them directly was quite illuminating and there is no obligation. Good luck, let us know your decision
  17. People do have lives to lead. I've got a job with a killer commute, a new son and all that entails, a household to maintain, car insurance to sort, a social life to keep, family to visit........ Thankfully we are healthy but others are not so lucky so have disabilities or dependants. I can assure you, life does get in the way. But I am looking to fit this in there quite high up the priority list. Thanks for for the pdf tip. I will use that :-)
  18. I put down the rough dates, because I was in a similar position, but my form isn't submitted yet, so I can't say with certainty that this will be ok.
  19. Once you made that all important decision to apply for the visa, how long did it actually take for you to work out how it all pulled together and get the form complete and all the evidence together? We are around three weeks from The day we decided to go for it and have got very little done so far. Life seems to get in the way
  20. Thanks. I don't think the form and guidance is clear regarding this so your help is definitely appreciated. :-)
  21. Hi folks My Aussie wife is sponsoring me on a partner visa 309/100 and we are reading the booklet at the moment. It suggests we need a medical for our 1 year old son who is dual citizenship. Is this correct or is the booklet suggesting this should be for dependents who are non Australian citizens? Thanks
  22. Thanks guys. We need to do some thinking about this now. We might visit one of the Aussie jobs fairs, spreading the network might be a good place to start at this stage.
