  1. trying to work out time scales. we applied June 2016 and it's now approximately 30 months processing time, I can't see this getting and shorter only longer so I'm thinking it's going to be about 40 months by the time we are processed.....am I thinking this right? hi we lodged in oct 15 and the waiting time was roughly 18 months, its hard to predict the time scale, hopefully they will speed up. if they go at this pace for the next 12 months, we will be looking well over 3 years
  2. [h=3]The Brand New PIO Parents Visa thread[/h]hi lynn you might want to post your request in the above thread, there are hundreds of people going through the same. we lodged our 143 visa in oct 15. people are saying it could be upto 3 years and possibly more. you never know thou, it moved quite a bit this week, so fingers crossed.
  3. If you don't get a response to your test email, it means there is no change in the date since your last response from them. It's currently 30th July 2014, whuch it has been stuck on for the last 4 weeks or so. By my very rough calculations, the current processing time for a 143 is about 30 to 31 months, but that is almost bound to lengthen, so yes, about 3 years is realistic. Thanks for the reply Catlady2014 maybe the xmas holidays has slowed them down.
  4. any news form immi regarding visa dates, i have had no reply this week. its looking like its going to be over 3 years wait for the 143 visa.
  5. Hello again. So, my parents are definitely thinking about submitting a visa application. I would be super grateful if someone could answer the following questions: 1) Is the initial 143 visa cost GBP £2,775 for two adults? 2) How much is the second instalment and when is it payable (this bit is definitely confusing me)? 3) Are medicals only requested once you have a case officer ie about 2 years after submission of your application? 4) Is there any faster way to get them out here, other than the 143? Cheers  hi hope this helps, prices were from oct15, not sure if they have changed. 1. Contributory Parent (Migrant) 143 visa - First: $4,705 per application for 2 adults; Second: $43,600 per person.
  6. hi jodipodi thanks for that post, really helpfull.
  7. Had our medicals at Nuffield Manchester yesterday... Dr Smith wa s very polite, had a lovely manner and made all five of us completely at ease. We were there approximately 1 and a half/two hours I think and our cost was extremely reasonable and actually cheaper than expected. I have a complicated medical history which was dealt with much more easily by the fact my agent had provided me guidance and advice on how to ensure I could make things simple for the Dr examining me. Great from start to finish from booking and on the day. Thumbs up to Nuffield Manchester Citilabs. hi hope im not being too cheeky in asking how much the medicals cost, and also a list of some of the things they examined you for, obviously not the personal things.
  8. Completed application and it was lodged on 1st June 2016. Now for the long wait! hi we completed 143 visa on 4th october 2015, take a seat in the waiting room, and be prepared for the long wait, be worth it in the end.
  9. Hi quick question about my pension. we have got a parent visa143 in progress. Should be in aus, fingers crossed in 2017. i will be 55 in 2018, can I have the 25% payment if I am living in Australia, or can you only draw that if you are living in the uk. mark
  10. some times when i check i dont get a reply, not sure why because it is automated.
  11. We are currently assessing for finalization applications lodged up to 1 April 2014. (no change from last week) does anybody know from years gone by, if this date changes much, eg can it suddenly jump a couple of months, or does it generally move days rather than months.we have still got a long wait, lodged a 143 in oct 15.
  12. if you send a blank e-mail to parents@immi.gov.au,you get a re-ply telling you what date they are dealing with at the moment. if you scroll down the e-mail 143 visa is about half way down.
  13. looking more like 24 months now. so that gives you a bit more time.
