  1. Hi all, just checking out the new APP for iphones. I have a question - We are going out in June on the e-visitor s/c651 for three months. Whilst we are there can we apply for the 600 tourist visitor for the year. Hopefully within this period our 143 will appear and all will be well [emoji41]. Or would it be best to arrange 600 before we leave UK ? Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
  2. Hi, does anyone know if you can apply for the 600 tourist visa for the year whilst being in Australia on the e-visitor subclass 651 for three months? Geoff & Gill
  3. For us, selling our house, which we had lived in for over 38 years, caused us no feelings of heartache. Our eldest two children already lived abroad ( USA & Australia), so when our youngest moved to Australia in 2015, the house gradually stopped feeling like a family home, and more like a millstone round our neck. Although the house held memories, they were still with us, but we looked forward to the future more, especially our grandchildren growing up. For us, this was the best decision, but obviously everyone is different. Geoff & Gill
  4. No worries! Yes, we'll definitely have to meet up during our 6 weeks! We can pick your brains for our last minute organising when we apply? Geoff & Gill
  5. We are also going out in June, but only for 6 weeks. It's our youngest grandchilds 1st birthday at the end of July, so couldn't miss that. We are hoping (a big hope!) that we get medical requests before Xmas, pass them, and then get 600 visa so that we can spend Xmas with our families. It's also hubby's 70th in February and our daughter's 40th in May, so it would be even better to be there then . Geoff & Gill
  6. Tried Immi today , no reply to email but looks like they have jumped a fortnight. Great news ? Geoff & Gill
  7. Hi again, he wrote as if from now, saying that it would probably be at least nine months before our application is processed. So considering that they seem to be requesting medicals etc about 6-8 earlier than CO being assigned, hoping that Nov/Dec may see request coming through! Just got to keep hoping ? Geoff & Gill
  8. Hi, we recently emailed Immi, giving our dates and asking about different options, and also when we should be hearing from CO. He told us that he thinks it should be in approx 9 maths, possibly extending to 10 , as there was another influx in June 15, Luckily we lodged early June. He suggested that we don't change to 864 as said this would be impractical, but confirmed that FA/600 would be OK for us to use and would not affect CA/143 visa. All we would have to do would be to inform Immi of our new address and contact info. Regards Geoff & Gill
  9. Hopefully this will solve our problem, which is finding certain pages that we've bookmarked for relevant info. Page numbers don't line up anymore!
  10. Hi, how long did you have to leave Australia for each time, is there a minimum period ? We applied June 2015 and are hoping to get requests for medicals end of this year and if successful in passing medicals, applying for 600 visa. Geoff & Gill
  11. Just seen that we're back on line. Over the past year we've saved several posts with relevant info on AoS, Centrelink etc but these bookmarks do not work on the new site. Any ideas how to find them? Geoff & Gill
  12. Hello, we are a couple in our late 60s, who are using an emigration agent. Only a few weeks ago, we contacted them and asked advice on the same problem i.e. 600 visa whilst waiting for 143. We were advised that it was very risky to go out without a return flight and that if you go out with the intention to remain , it could put the 143 at risk of cancellation. Needless to say this worried us and we decided against it. We assume our agent had our best interests at heart as they have already been paid and don't have any ulterior motive. We also have two married children living in Oz. We keep saying to our grandchildren, one soon to be 8 and one soon to be 5 , that we'll be there in the next few months. Since then we visited last Aug/Sept when our new grandchild was born, and are going again this June/July for her first birthday. As you say, totally fed up, and wishing your life away. All we can do is wait! Regards Geoff & Gill
  13. We noticed this last month and asked our emigration agent about it, only to be told that they are completely different visas! However, apart from one being on shore and the other off shore, they appear to be identical! Both are also given 2-4 years processing time on Immi web page! Regards Geoff & Gill
  14. Looking forward to next Friday and the new processing time tool! Not sure how we can access it if its new? Let's hope the date has moved on at last !
  15. We have heard from our emigration agent that the date is still 19 August 2014, but that Immi have not given any reason for this non movement. However our agent did say that they are asking for AoS, medicals and police checks for people who lodged 8 weeks after this date, so that all will be in place for when a CO is allocated. So we're still no further on or any the wiser. Geoff & Gill
  16. When we we sold our house we left all the furniture for the buyers (it was all quite old and dated). We hired a 75 sq ft unit in a storage company and have loaded it up with boxes, 60+ at the last count! We rented a furnished one bed apartment and just took minimum requirements needed , which will be disposed of when we finally get visas. We have checked out furniture shops out there and they have homemaker centres all over which encompasses all types , furniture, beds , white gooods. So as others have said , will be buying new for a new house ? Gill & Geoff
  17. Both me and my husband have sent test emails and neither have had any replies today Gill
  18. Totally agree with all the above comments. We are now wishing we had applied for Aged Parent Visa back in 2015 as we would have got it by now! When we visited last Aug/Sept 16 for our son's first baby, we thought it would be our last trip out and would have our visa by this Xmas! Don't hold out much hope at the mo and have decided to go back this June/July when our third grandchild will be one year old. We also have two others, 7 and 4 , with our daughter out there.
  19. With regards to lodgement date for 143 visas, have you noticed that the Contributory Aged Parent visa 864 is progressing much quicker i.e. they're up to May 16 and yet website gives processing time as the same as 143! There must be a lot of 65 year olds on a 143, why should the ones who have moved already over ahead of visa be given priority? Geoff & Gill
  20. Hi Lynn, your news is the best news we've had for a long while. We are one month ahead of you in application but our emigration agent, only last week, was not as forthcoming as yours and could only tell us that Immi were requesting medical checks etc one month prior to CO being allocated. Did they give any firmer info regarding this forecast? Regards Geoff and Gill
  21. Hi, thanks for info. We are having a rethink at the moment. Dont want to jump the gun and jeopardise the Visa application as we've waited this long, don't want to take the risk! Regards Geoff and Gill
  22. Hi Joe, thanks for the reply, was not too sure if you would see our request, so duplicated it with a PM just now Regards Geoff & Gill
