1. Hello there, we are in the same position as you. We lodged our application for 143 on 9th June this year and have been advised that it will be approx 18/22 mths! We have a married daughter with two grandchildren and a son and daughter in law, both living in North East of Melbourne ( Greensborough and Heidelberg) and have already been scoping out suitable areas to live. One we like is Doreen, in particular Laurimer. Another in Mernda, although no train as yet ( promised in the future) there is good bus links to Greensborough which is on the Hurstbridge line to Melbourne. We are using an emigration agent (TEG Ltd) to make sure that our application is rock solid with no omissions or errors, so far they've been brilliant. Good luck!
2. Hi, we are now waiting also. Our application was couriered to Perth on 3rd June, with bank cheque, and was lodged on 9th June. So fingers crossed!
3. Hi everyone, our application for visa was dispatched to Perth yesterday. How long does it take to become lodged?
4.

We are about to submit our Contributory Parent Visa at the end of the month. On advice from migration agent, we opened a NAB current/savings account and transferred visa money, in an effort to save credit card surcharges. It appears that that is not so easy to pay with even an Australian debit card. Has anyone been in our situation and if so what was the outcome?

5. Correct Sir, luckily she has been there for 10 years and has full citizenship.
6. Hi all, just had it confirmed, The sponsor " our daughter " has to be in the country for min 2 years, our sons move is purely putting us "in balance" Wouldn't it be great if the UK had such rules !
7. Hi Vava, Greatly appreciate your comments but hopefully we are being guided by "The Emigration Group" who were directly responsible for obtaining my Son's and his Wife's visa. They said that all our papers are in order with the exception of him landing in Oz, all he needs is proof of accommodation address and or driving licence, so fingers crossed ? I will check with them though cos I don't want to be saying to you " should have listened to "Vava"
8. Good luck with the House Sale, maybe we should get started with Estate Agents Hi all, we are within 5 weeks before we can actually submit application. We have one son living in USA, Daughter living in Melbourne, last Son emigrating to Melbourne in 5 weeks "all booked" As soon as he lands and gets the stamp in his passport, that will be the last bit of proof we need for formal application. As we were there for Christmas it seemed a good idea prior, to open a bank account, whilst there it was activated which enabled us to start transferring some funds ready for the visa charges when they arrive, one good point to mention is that the NAB are paying a regular interest 3% net and Moneycorp transfer for free, at well above travel money rate. Oh how good it feels to be a right balanced family lol.

10. Can anyone give me an idea of the cost involved in shipping a Skoda Yeti and caravan to Oz. I know a 40ft container is about £3500, but not sure of all the other hidden costs.
11. Hi Mike, sounds promising thanks. Can you say which bank and how much per transaction. Eg NAB quote $22 for each transfer Regards Geoff ps. Could you give he an idea of exchange rate you receive via your bank transfer, would be really Useful for decision making. Thanks
12. Hello everyone, we are in the early stages of planning our eventual move to Australia on a contributory parent visa. Doesn't seem to be any problems with regards state pension as this is covered by " Australia Individual Form " which must be completed once we are there. Main problem seems to be getting an additional private pension paid, seems the only ways available to my pension provider are 1. Send me a monthly cheque in sterling or 2. retain my uk bank account which it is currently paid into and then transfer at regular intervals to eg, NAB account at a cost. Any better ideas would be gratefully received.:skeptical::skeptical::skeptical::skeptical::skeptical::skeptical:
