Hi Karen, just on the other side of the coin, we are using an agent for our CPV143 and for us it was the right decision. We had a couple of problems during lodgement and paying for the 1st VAC which our agents jumped on straight away and sorted it for us. We could have probably sorted it out ourselves if we hadn't used an agent but I dread to think of the length of time it would have entailed to do that not to mention the stress, I've already aged 10 years since we started the process LOL. I flew back in August from Oz to the UK after a holiday for 2 months and yes I flew with Malaysian Airlines. Loads of leg room (I was economy), good films etc to watch and couldn't fault it. Stopped at Kuala Lumpur for the plane change. We've also flown with Cathay Pacific last Christmas and previously Royal Brunei. Flew Qantas years ago. I've never found any problems with any of the airlines we've flown with and generally I choose who to fly with by price and one that doesn't have a long wait between flights.

Hi there, we didn't get a phone call from the bank checking whether the payment for the 1st VAC was genuine but a text. I rang them straight and they had already rejected it! What a nightmare, I swear I've aged 10 years since starting the application. We have an agent and thankfully it all got sorted and payment has been verified. Just waiting for the acknowledgement now, I'm hoping it's sometime this month!! Good luck to you all maisiedaisy

Hi Cheeky Rascal Everyone is having a long wait at the moment. we lodged in early April and are awaiting our acknowledgement which is taking 5 months at the moment. We have also considered the 600 visitors visa but I don't want to have to try and renew it if it's taking longer than that to get our CPV143. We also don't want an 8503 (no further stay) being slapped on our 600. I'm sure somebody will have more information to give you. Good luck - maisiedaisy

We are using an agent and to be honest I'm so pleased we are. We had two problems when our paperwork was lodged (not the fault of ours or our agents). I wouldn't have had a clue how to solve it and I'm positive it would have taken ages, but thankfully our agents were on it instantly and have sorted it out with Perth and everything is back on track.

Hi, Well I understood that the waiting time is 4 months for an acknowledgement. Our application was lodged in April and the 1st VAC has been taken but so far no acknowledgement! Maisiedaisy

Wondered if anyone had any updates on how long the acknowledgements are taking. Last I read, it was 4 months - our lodgement date is a couple of weeks over that now.

Hot sweats are a total nightmare! I swear next time I come back I'm going to tick the 'man box'! Been having them for years. I went on HRT after a long while of saying I wouldn't take them but they became so bad I could have snatched them out of his hand LOL. Eventually they seemed to stop working and so I stopped taking them. The sweats were back with vengeance almost immediately. I'm going to Oz on Wednesday, I'll let you know how I fare in the warmer weather.

Just saying hello to everyone. Hoping to move to Oz where our daughter and family live. Two gorgeous little grandchildren to spoil :-) Have applied for the Contributory Parent Visa 143 a month or so ago and can't wait to get out there

I'm a newbie on here so hello to everyone :smile: Just wondering how long you may have waited from Lodgement to acknowledgement of your application. Ours has been over a month for a 143. I've looked on other sites and people seem to have been waiting ages. Is that normal and does anyone have any idea on the timescale please. Thank you
