  1. OK a little confused now, So they have already contacted you regarding your medical? What about the form 80? When I went through my visa process (still trying to block it from my memory) it was the CO who requested all this. thanks
  2. They lodged it first week in November 2014, unsure of the exact day. We weren't aware you could start preparing these things in advance so thanks for the tip, I'll get them to make a start. I'll get them to check their junk folder to see if anything has gone to that. thanks
  3. Hi, posting on behalf of the in laws... I noticed your acknowledgementdate is 28/2/15, my inlaws date is 11/3/15 but they haven't heard anything yet. Do you have a case officer now or are you just getting all your police checks and medicals done in preparation for it? Thanks in advance.
  4. Hi all, my parents are looking at spending 6 months between here in Australia with me and 6 months in the UK each year. only my dad will need working rights when he's over here, mum doesn't need them. can one parent apply for the contributory parent visa and the other just do 6 month tourist visas for each visit? its a lot to pay out for 2 visas when only 1 will need the working rights here, my dad can be the one to purchase the property over here too. is this possible, or do they have guidelines in place to prevent this? thanks
  5. Thanks for the info, We used an agent for our main visa as it was quite complicated. once we've got the right form sorted, this one doesn't seem too hard to do without one. Famous last words I'm sure! Rick
  6. Hi All, Wife's parents are about to start their application for the above visa, Can anyone help with which form to use? Seems a stupid question, but when you click "Apply Now" on the immi website under 143 visa, it takes you to the 47PT form which has the title for a Temporary visa application, not permanent. Also, when you click on the "Apply Now" button under the 173 Temporary Visa, it takes you to the 47PA form, which looks like it should be for the permanent visa? Have they got it back to front, or am I missing something. Thanks Rick
  7. We have a vacancy for a qualified electrician holding a WA license. Serving the needs of the largest fast food restaurants. Unable to sponsor at this stage so must have working visa. Privately owned company, great group of employees and good rates of pay. Need good fault finding qualities for complex systems Thanks Rick

Passed my final Cert III exam today finally! Just waiting on the certificate now so I can apply for both refrigeration and electrical licenses. Although expensive, I actually learnt a lot from going to Tafe on the electrical side, much more than they teach for the city and guilds. I highly recommend anyone in a similar situation to what I was, to go to an RTO rather than using TRA, If anyone wants further info, let me know. Rick

Confused by your post mate, I don't think I said anywhere about applying for licenses from UK? was this meant for me? I am in Australia and have been for 2 1/2 years now. You also don't need a permanent migration visa for licenses. Plumbing commission, I'm no plumber! Haha. Not sure if it falls under plumbing in other states, but not In WA. It's Arctick for the refrigerant handling license, which I need either a cert 3 or ARTC based on UK qualifications. I also need the relevant restricted electrical license for refrigeration and air conditioning from energy safety which is what I'm gaining my cert 3 for at Tafe. Rick

In regards to the comment, the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing was actually used by my case officer at immigration when I spoke to him! I mean, if he thinks this, what hope is there for us!

I ****ed off TRA and went down the RPL route, Got my refrigeration and air con side all completed and now just have 7 modules to complete for the electrical part, this will get me my restricted electrical with energy safe. Cost me 6k to enrol, but IMO an Australian cert III at the end of it will be worth it! Even the tutors at my Tafe who deal with tra for the trades assessment said they are useless, and the immigration agent said they are their biggest headache out of the whole process, There definitely needs to be some reform on the licensing side of things, Hope you get it sorted mate, Rick

Bunch of useless ****s mate! I have no more evidence, I gave them everything possible and still they want more. Apparently because it's not a formal apprenticeship, they ask for a master craftsman certificate, which they have no idea what one is, and nor do I. Great! They haven't got a clue, the whole process is ****ed, but they complain about lack of skills here! Please do me a favor and look at the process, it's flawed!! Rick

Great Christmas present.... Declined! Not even a trades test, just a straight out declined with no point in reviewing apparently. They don't class my City and Guilds NVQ as an apprenticeship even though it's identical, so I fall under the 6 year rule which I'm short of. Looks like I'm going down the overpriced RPL route here in Perth, Rick

Ah cool, I suddenly had access to the site today, no email though for mine. It was just by chance when I called up they said it was finalised. Did they say where the trades test would be? Where you heading to in Perth? Rick
