Val - hope reducing the price of your house has the desired results, hopefully interest will start picking up very soon and you'll have an offer, then you can get yourself over there and start having a brilliant time x We've had two viewings in two weeks but no offers duh!

That's a good idea Summerskybird, it's a bit funny really when you think about it! The older you get the worse your memory becomes and here we are trying to fill in forms where you need to remember back to your birth!! I've been working since I was 15 and had a few jobs over the years so we really had to rack our brains. Plus IMMI don't like blanks I'm told, you have to fill all the gaps. Good luck maisie

Thought this might help: We lodged 09/04/14 and our acknowledgement said we could apply for police checks from 09/02/15 and medical checks from 09/04/15. From advise we've received we are going to apply later because of the 12 months rule. AOS (as in my daughter contacting them) was also after 09/04/15. We have also been required to fill in the dreaded form 80 - that was fun!!!!!!!! Good luck to you all Maisie

I think with Westpac that you can open the account online and then you can validate the account in person here in the UK giving you complete access to your money - that's if you fancy a trip to London of course :-) Maisie

That's good to know Val, that's something we need to get set up. Trying to decide between Westpac, NAB or ANZ but I'm guessing they're all much of muchness Maisie

Good luck with the house sale Steve I hope it sells quickly for you. Our house has been up for sale since last February and so will be talking about dropping the price at the end of this month or next!! Kindest regards maisie

Hi Roberta2 - then I guess, if the medical is failed you would still have the money for the 2nd vac and would have to look around and buy again! A big pain of course but for some of us selling is the only way to pay the 2nd vac. It's a leap of faith but one we have to try to be able to live the rest of our lives with our family ! Kindest regards Maisie

Hi Julie, Our paperwork said Police Checks after February 9th and Medicals after April 9th. It depends on when you are hoping to get out there as the police checks and medicals are only valid for a year and you don't really want to pay for them twice. We will get them done a bit nearer the time. Like Vava has said, house sales are pretty slow around my part of the country and ours went on the market last February, so we are nearly a year in. Steve 2 - we have to sell our house too to fund the 2nd vac!

Hi Julie Our acknowledgement letter advised dates after which we could get our police checks and medicals, so at the moment we are counting the days until we can do that. Good luck to you Maisie
