  1. Hi there! Collette all of this has got me worried too, like yourself I am a dip he Nurse with district nursing BSC hons, currently working in sexual health and now completing my masters. I know there has been much debate over the diploma registration but I am hoping my additional quals will see me through the registration process although I'm starting to doubt that. We are looking at settling in either Adelaide or Brisbane.
  2. Hi I have a 6 year old daughter with epilepsy, which is mostly well controlled. I am in the application process for a visa to emigrate to Australia but i'm a bit concerned about healthcare for her, she is so well managed here under the NHS at the moment and I do worry that we wont be able to match the healthcare support she has here......any advice?? Also did you have any issues with the school regarding diagnosis of epilepsy? thank you! sorry so many questions!
  3. Hi All, wonder if someone can help me out? We would like to emigrate to australia from the UK so I am in the process of applying for nurse registration. I registered with the NMC with a Diploma - HE in Nursing but I have also completed a degree and am just finishing my masters. I was all set to apply to AHPRA and i see that several people have advised to firstly apply for an ANMAC assessment. However, other posts state that AHPRA will not recognise their assessment and so it is a waste of time and money. I'm now really confused.......can anyone advise me on this process?? I don't want to apply to AHPRA, wait for my application to process (which i have also heard is a life time at the moment!) and find that i need a skills assessment from ANMAC. Yet paying $900 for an assessment that may not recognised by AHPRA is a little crazy to say the least! Whats the real deal?? Thank you!

    Hi There!

Hi There, We (the hubby and I) have joined this forum as we are looking to move to Oz with the 3 kids - 2 x teens and one 6 year old - and the dog. We hope to be granted a permanent visa to settle in the Brisbane area. The process is soooooo complicated though! I am in the middle of sorting out my nurses registration and skills assessment and have my IELTS test in 2 weeks, so the ball is rolling! I have already found the information on this forum incredibly helpful and as we have opted not to employ an agency we will need all the help we can find! Keep posting!
