  1. was that door to door service? I don't have much so was gonna use a move cube but they don't do door to door survice!
  2. I can't see anyone with co same as me, I know she works part time & maybe she's new!?!?
  3. All us going on a pmv r meant to have a happy ending to our love stories & that includes u so keep yr chin up and know we're all here to support u I think many of us have been through some very difficult times & being apart from out partners is hard... This process really does test us but it's all worth it so when yr at yr appointment know we're thinking of u big hugs for u :hug:
  4. Woohoo fantastic news for all that got there's grants today. I'm so excited for u all... I'm in sunny Spain at mo on holiday so I'll have a few drinks for u tonight JTSpurs ur next m8
  5. Yes I noticed that so I emailed my agent bk, asked him to confirm this as I had also read that a while bk when I was reading up on citizenship, so will be interesting what he emails bk!! Thanks for the other info, like u said handy to know & I am one for wanting to know everything!!!! Lol
  6. That's good to know but for me I only ask in case something should happen to either of my parents or want to return for a 2/3 week holiday
  7. After asking the question on here I emailed my agent with the same question. This is what he sent me bk so I thought I'd put it on here to help others with stages of their visas Stage One – Prospective Marriage visa It will be for 9 months and, as you know, you must marry and apply for your permanent visa within that 9 months. It’s a multiple-entry visa, so you can leave and return during that time. Stage Two – Application for Partner visa (provisional visa) When you apply for your Partner visa, this will need to be processed. These, like this one, takes quite a long time. While it’s being processed, you will have what’s called a Bridging Visa. Your bridging visa is NOT multiple entry, so you would need to seek advice and permission from Immigration if you wanted to leave Australia for short periods during this time. Stage Three – Provisional Partner visa When your Partner Visa application is approved, you will get your provisional visa. This is valid until you get your permanent visa, usually about 2 years later. This visa is multiple entry, so you can travel freely while it’s in effect. Stage Four – Permanent Partner visa When you get your permanent Partner visa, around 2 years from when you get your provisional Partner visa (although it could take a little longer), this is also multiple entry, so you can travel freely while it’s in effect. Stage Five – Australian citizenship Once you have had your permanent visa for 4 years, you could enquire about citizenship. I would strongly recommend this, although it is optional, and you should note that there are some other things you need to do to qualify for this, but because this is 6-7 years away at least, it’s too early to go into detail on this. You would then get an Australian passport, and have both it and the UK one, and you would never have any entry restrictions to Australia again. Resident Return Visa If you choose never to become an Australian citizen, you would need to have a Resident Return visa whenever you left Australia. These usually run for 5 years at a time (this could be where the 5 years you heard of comes from). They are multiple entry. However, in order to qualify for a new Resident Return visa when it runs out each 5 years, you need to show that you’ve spend a total (so all days add up) of 2 of the past 5 years in Australia. If you have, they’re straightforward. If you haven’t, you’d need to see Immigration or a migration agent to see if you qualify for another kind of Resident Return visa. But the bottom line is, if you spend 2 years in 5 (in total) in Australia, you would not have any problems at all. Please note, though, that rules can change, so you’d need to check your situation out if you’re planning to leave Australia in either of the following: - You’re on your Bridging Visa (Stage 2 above); or - You have a permanent visa, but don’t have a resident return visa. Bottom line, once you have your permanent visa, if you’re spending most of your time in Australia, with just occasional short visits outside, you shouldn’t have any problems.
  8. Thank u for the information....I want to be a citizen anyway & plan to do this as soon as I can, so basically I wouldn't have any problems but what about whilst I'm waiting for my permanent residency visa to be grants after I'm married. Can I make a trip bk to the UK within that time if needed??? My dad has just been given all clear from cancer which is great news but makes u realise u never know what's round the corner!!!
  9. Can anyone set my mind at rest please.... My H2b was told by a friend that done his visa over 10yrs ago that once i get my... now not sure if he said visa or citizenship.....that I can't leave Oz for 5 years!!!!!! :err: Surely this isn't true????? Can anyone shed some light on this please, thank u
  10. welcome Tracy, lovely bunch on here and always ready with advice...... Has helped me
  11. Yes I think my H2b scanned and emailed his income info to our agent when he did his 40sp form, weather the agent uploaded it or not I don't know but I think on the 40sp form it asked for it but don't quote me on that. If it doesn't ask for it on that form I'm sure I've read somewhere that they want that info!!
  12. totally get the stress u r talking about, also been waiting years to get to this point due to my ex. All good now though have the paperwork I needed & got application in just before increase. Would have been great to get it in before January's increase but never mind at least it's in now. And also get the stress & frustration of GooseRenders, being apart from partner is very hard especially when you've already been waiting so long to get to this stage..... Look on the bright side people, our visas are submitted & we're all on the right track....woohoo I know for one being on here has helped me sooooo much, so greatful for the support & advice from others!!
  13. Done anyone know if u can ship yr belongings before u get yr visa is granted? Want to ship stuff to Hb2 so it's there when we arrive!!! Appreciate any help/advice
  14. I think the medical should be valid for longer & should get it done before applying. I worry bout it... U apply for yr visa, pay all that money, wait 5/6 mths, have yr medical, then what if something shows up u didn't even know about??? And they say sorry u didn't pass the medical!!!! Yr whole life & dreams come crashing down around u!!! Not that I think anything is wrong, I'm fit & healthy but that could happen!! Oh I'm a happy sole this morning!!!!! :biglaugh:
  15. Hey ICEMAN7, good to be on another list thanks. Have u tried to email yr co? Must be so frustrating to c others get their visa that applied after u... I'm only 2 mths in and I'm really hoping it's no longer than the 12mth mark!!
  16. Lets hope they do, all of us that are only 2mths in are still hoping for the 10ish mth Mark....... To think we may have to wait 14 is real upsetting!!!! So fingers crossed Oz immi are kind to us
  17. All in all, the best thing to do is not get them done until co asks u to or tells u date to!! That way there's no worrying bout it!
  18. Just had another look at letter, at the bottom it say section1- further information. Section 2- health and character checks required but then only has section 1 asking for form 956 to b sent with in 28 day no section 2 added.... Very strange. Will have to get H2b to forward me the whole email not just attached letter or give me email address so I can email co & let her know!!
  19. Mine just asked for a 956 formed to be filled in & signed but that's just form so agent can work on my behalf... Not sure why agent didn't already upload that with everything else!! But anyway all done now. Other than that only said time scale at least 10/14 mths!!! didnt say anything about when to do medical's
  20. I also have an agent working for me but my H2b got an email & so would I but they got my email address wrong. Yr agent officer should inform u and forward on any emails for u. If yr not sure just email yr agent requesting this
  21. Woohoo keep me in Oz, 2 moths down!! :twitcy: Great feeling getting a co
