Flights finally booked. Fly out of UK on 6th January and arrive in Melbourne to start the next stage in our life on 8th January. Woo Hoo..... Happy days.:smile:

We have finally managed to sell our house, and will be looking to book our (one way :jiggy:) flights for the first week in January. One full year since applying. Has anybody used them?? Got a quote from them and it was very competitive, and they seemed very professional. Has anybody heard of them or used them?

We were thinking about using them too. Guy we have been dealing with appears to be pretty thorough, and talks a good game. Another we are looking at is "Clark and Rose". Has anybody used them??

I can understand their extremeness with outdoor equipment. But what did people do about washing machines, tumble dryers and the like?? How much cleaning did you do on internal goods?

Hi All, Does anybody know how customs works with regards to tax on goods younger than 1 year old? I believe that you could potentially be asked to pay tax on larger goods (i.e. fridge freezer, wwashing machine, etc..) Thankfully all our bigger stuff is older anyway, so dont have any concerns there! I'm more concerned about the kids xmas gifts. We will be shipping our stuff out this month, and will be putting the kids x-mas gifts in our container (well the bigger ones that will not fit into their suitcases for travelling in January. Hi Guys, Looking for some advice from people who had already sent there personal stuff over in a container. We had a guy out from Anglo Pacific, who went on big time about ensuring everything is clean and dirt free. Ensuring the base of shoes are dirt free, golf bag is dirt free, and even going to the extreme of buying Jeyes Fluid to cleanse any outdoor equipment. I think he was being too excessive, but was just looking for some feedback of what other people have done to ensure everything is clean so as not to have any issues going through customs and quarantine. Hey Guys, Just wondering.... Does anybody know how long do you need to stay in Oz to validate your 190 Visa? Is there a minimum stay requirement? We are planning on moving over in the first week of January (as long as everything goes to plan). I am just preparing myself for the possibility of not being able to sell our house prior to validating our Visa's. If that is the case we will fly over in January to validate our Visa's, my wife and kids will stay in Australia with her brother and I will come home until the house is sold. Cheers Eddie

This Forum is all you need to complete your application without an agent. We did our 190 application without an agent, and the members on this site were fantastic in answering questions and giving advice.

@tigerfeet - Great to see everything is going smoothly for you, after the rough ride through the application process. Fingers crossed that everything keeps going smoothly for you and you settle and have a wonderful life in Adelaide. @Gidza - Wow....Selling your house in the first week of being on the market in this day and age is absolutely fantastic. Good luck with your interview and your life in Adelaide. @thomas - Good luck with the interviews you've had and hopefully you sill get one of them. It will certainly help you settle quicker when you get over to Oz in December. Good to know that everything is progressing well for everybody. Hope it continue to go smoothly for everybody, in this new chapter of our lives. We have just put our home up for sale (so fingers crossed we get a quick sale). We have managed to secure our little boy a place in Kinder for January, so that puts the pressure on us to get there for then. We are in the process of arranging the shipping, so that when our home is sold we can get our stuff shipped over quickly. So all taking time to happen, but at least most of it is now in our control.
