  1. Hi Gez, We're looking at moving to South Melbourne. We've got family in that area. What about yourself? Hopefully your wait won't be too long for your skills assessment. Ours was done pretty quick at the time. Much quicker than I expected. Cheers Eddie
  2. Hi GezMag, I feel your fear. I'm a Software Engineer of 15 years experience, and have a similar trepidation about trying to kick start my career in Oz. I'm married with two young kids too. (Little boy of 3 and Girl of 8). But if it means a better way of life for my too young ones, its a chance worth taking. Cheers Eddie
  3. Gidza, What Visa have you applied for? This reply makes it look as though 489's are the ones that will be held up, as they will be processing 190 as the main priority. Cheers Eddie
  4. Filling out Form 80 for myself and my Wife. ARRRGGGHHHHHH...:arghh: What a form!!!! Would certainly recommend downloading and filling it in before you get your CO assigned (if you haven't already).
  5. Thanks tigerfeet. I don's do my own tax returns, but thankfully have all my P60 for over the last 10 years.
  6. Just received an email from our CO asking us to provide more information (meds, police checks ad Form 80), but the also asked me to supply "Tax Documents" as proof of my Work Experience. Has anybody else been asked to supply Tax Documents? Does anybody know what documents they are looking for? (Pay slips? P60?) Thanks in advance.
  7. Things appear to be moving. Just received an email requesting some more information. So it appears that we have been assigned a CO.
  8. @taffyowen. I have seen similar threads saying that people are being told there is a backlog, but there appeals to be an equal amount of people saying that they are getting CO's assigned, and visas granted. IMMI have updated their website reducing the processing time from 6 months to 3 Months for 190 subclass. So it could be that the backlog is dependant upon State, Job Categories or just individual applicants. I haven't seen anything that would clarify for sure what the latest and most up-to-date situation is.
  9. @kiranjetti Brilliant news, we are only 1 week behind you. So, fingers crossed we hear soon too. Can I ask if the co asked for the docs to be certified? We have uploaded most of our docs, but not certified any, as I read on other forums that the docs do not need go be certified if they are a coloured scanned image. Cheers Eddie
  10. I guess that it could be dependant upon State that is Sponsoring and the Skills being sponsored, and may not be the case for everybody.. Which State has sponsored you?
  11. I don't understand why IMMI would delay granting until July, but subsequently update their website to say that processing times for 190 Subclass has changed from 6 Months to 3 Months..
  12. I assumed it to mean 3 months from lodgement, as this is what is on the IMMI website as the Skilled Migration Visa Processing Time. (Could be wrong, but hopefully not). Hopefully we will have a CO soon.
  13. Any more CO assignments?? I thought we would be seeing more CO's being assigned, particularly when they have reduced the processing time for 190's to 3 months.
  14. Certainly smiled when I saw this post. 3 Months, instead of 6. Fantastic. Bring on the Visa!!!!
  15. If you are in jobs that are earning you around £200K in the UK, then you must be able to get similar jobs earning around $400K in Australia. With the current exchange rate sitting around £1 -> 1.75$, you must surely be expecting jobs that sit in the bracket of 1.75 -> 2 times your existing salary in the Uk.
  16. Thanks all for your input. Much appreciated. Probably not unexpected, I had thought about double my current salary would give a similar standard of living.
  17. Hi All, Currently waiting on 190 Application to be processed. So while I'm waiting, patiently, I am trying to find out as much as possible about the Cost of Living and what income a Family of 4 would need to have a good standard of living. We are looking at the Melbourne area, and are a family of 4 with a girl aged 8 and a boy aged 3. In the UK we have a reasonable standard of living, by reasonable I am mean that we live in a 3 bed Semi-Detached with a good sized garden, 2 car family, both children have their clubs/sports, we can afford to have family days out, occasional family nights out, and a 2-3 week holiday each year. What sort of family income do you reckon is required to have a good standard of living in Australia (Melbourne)? Cheers Eddie
  18. Haven't completed Meds or Police Checks yet. I'm just waiting patiently:goofy: for the CO to be assigned and get them done then.
  19. I feel your pain CSK. What date did you lodge your application? Have you done your Meds and Police checks?
  20. Thanks "Celt Down under". That's exactly what I was looking for, for the little guy.
  21. I have submitted my application for 190 (VIC State Sponsored) online, and have submitted scanned copies of the documents without getting them certified. I read on another forum that you do not need to get documents certified, if you are uploaded scanned colour copies. Dont know what how true this is. I'm sure the CO will ask for them to certified if they need to be. No point in paying to get them certified, if you don't need to.
  22. Thanks for the reply BB, That's my daughter sorted. Just need to find a soccer club for the little guy. Cheers Eddie
  23. Have you checked out State Sponsorship as an option? You can get an extra 5 points from State Sponsorship if your work experience/education is something they need in that area.
  24. Hi all, We are looking to move to the Melbourne area, somewhere between Mentone and Seaford with two yonug children. Son of 3 who has just started playing football (Soccer, better get used to calling it Soccer) and Daughter of 8 who is in the Brownies and practices Karate. Just looking for some advice on what there is in these areas for them to get involved in. Thanks Eddie
  25. Hi Deepu, I applied for VIC SS under 261312 Developer Programmer, back in December and was granted SS in approx 5/6 weeks. Cheers Eddie
