Flights finally booked. Fly out of UK on 6th January and arrive in Melbourne to start the next stage in our life on 8th January. Woo Hoo..... Happy days.:smile:

We have finally managed to sell our house, and will be looking to book our (one way :jiggy:) flights for the first week in January. One full year since applying. We were thinking about using them too. Guy we have been dealing with appears to be pretty thorough, and talks a good game. Another we are looking at is "Clark and Rose". Has anybody used them??

I can understand their extremeness with outdoor equipment. But what did people do about washing machines, tumble dryers and the like?? How much cleaning did you do on internal goods?

Hi All, Does anybody know how customs works with regards to tax on goods younger than 1 year old? I believe that you could potentially be asked to pay tax on larger goods (i.e. fridge freezer, wwashing machine, etc..) Thankfully all our bigger stuff is older anyway, so dont have any concerns there! I'm more concerned about the kids xmas gifts. We will be shipping our stuff out this month, and will be putting the kids x-mas gifts in our container (well the bigger ones that will not fit into their suitcases for travelling in January. Thanks for the replies. Everything will be clean, but was obviously just curious as to how much cleaning was required.

Hi Guys, Looking for some advice from people who had already sent there personal stuff over in a container. We had a guy out from Anglo Pacific, who went on big time about ensuring everything is clean and dirt free. Ensuring the base of shoes are dirt free, golf bag is dirt free, and even going to the extreme of buying Jeyes Fluid to cleanse any outdoor equipment. I think he was being too excessive, but was just looking for some feedback of what other people have done to ensure everything is clean so as not to have any issues going through customs and quarantine. Thanks for you response Gidza. That's what I thought and hoped for, but just wanted to hear from somebody else. Fingers crossed we get the house sold, and its not something we need to worry about. What to do you mean about "Registering" my arrival? Contacting Victoria State Sponsor?
