  1. Hi All, I'd like to join this thread, 9/12/13 - Applied for State Sponsorship (Victoria - IT - is 261312 Developer Programmer.) - 19/01/14 - State Sponsorship Granted. 30/01/14 - Visa Application Lodged. Now patiently waiting for CO to be assigned. A few Questions:- Anybody else out there looking for a role in IT? How long are folk waiting for CO? Is there anybody not certified their uploaded documents? Cheers Eddie
  2. Thanks Ali, for such a quick response. Sounds pretty straight forward. I don't have full info on the injury/treatment at the moment (had MRI scan and telephone conversation with Physio who has referred to surgeon). But, by the time I get to doing the medicals I'm sure I will be able to supply full info. Thankfully the injury is really just preventing me from exercising (Anything that involves a lot of running. I had ran a half marathon last year and had planned a full marathon this year, but I am going have to cancel that now). It doesn't really affect my day-to-day life, which is just as well as I have 2 very young and very active children. So improved mobility and allowing me to get back to normal exercise will be the main outcome. I feel sure that it wont be an issue, but there is always that little niggling doubt at the back of your mind. Cheers Eddie
  3. Hi All, We have recently submitted our 190 and are just waiting patiently for a Case Officer to be assigned. Yesterday, I was informed that I have a tear in my Meniscus (a cartilage in the knee - Injured playing 5-a-side football) which can only be repaired by Keyhole surgery. I am a little concerned as to how this could affect my medicals. What if I have the surgery and while recovering I am asked to get my medicals done. Will this affect my medical? Would turning up in crutches be an issue? Is there anybody out there who has any similar experiences? Thanks Eddie
  4. Hi Everybody, Newcomer to the forum, so this is my first post. Just been granted State Nomination for Victoria, and I have started my Visa Application. Just looking to get an idea of the current IT Job Market in the Melbourne area. I am a Senior Developer/Solutions Architect with approximately 15 years of experience of the full SDLC. Primarily in the Financial Services Industry. My key areas over the last 5-10 years has been in C#,C++,ASP.NET, Entity Framework, WCF, SQL Server 2005/2008. Can also do Front End Web using HTML and CSS. Is there a demand for these in the Melbourne (or surrounding areas)? How long on average is it taking folk to find a job (contract or full time). Thanks in advance. Eddie
