  1. Have a chat with Petair. My pepper is 10 and asthmatic and is flying with us. Petair are run by vets and will not put the animals at high risk. Of course there is a risk involved. I flew Pepper from Australia to England when I moved over 7 years ago and was the best thing ever. She settled really well and was her usual self within a few hours. I only hesitated this time due to her asthma but both my vet and pet air have said she can fly.
  2. I remember that stress! we printed the handbook off and put it in a folder and then worked through it one section at a time, i.e found all the finance evidence, social evidence, statements from friends ect. doing it one step at a time and breaking it down makes it so much more managable. and don't be affraid to call up the embassy to ask for any help they are fantastic. for evidence of on going relationship and living together don't forget your council tax bills, car insurance ( if your named drivers) recipiets paid for by the other i.e i damaged my car and my husband paid for it. once you start looking you will find lots of evidence- just break it down into managable steps.
  3. Hi, I am Australian and my Husband is British. when we applied for his Partner Visa ( submitted september 2012 issued April 2013 )I included UK tax statements for the past 2 years and my Father provided a stat dec saying he would fincaially supprort us for as long as needed and provided a copy of his payslip. this was enough for them. hope this helps
  4. Hi Bob, i have spoken with Emma from PetAir as I has already booked her flight with you guys prior to her being diagnosed. I guess i'm just look for reassurance that I am not putting her at a great risk and looking for other people who may have had this experince. thank you :-)
  5. I will PM you ( if i can figure out how) a Mortgage broker I highly recommend in the UK. not sure if she will be able to help you but a quick email may be the way forward. I was a property manager back home ( Australia) and will be returning to this in May when I arrive. I have a rental property in the UK and I personally would not recommend rental properties for investments in the UK due to the silly laws unless you have good insurance. A friend of mine has had her tenant not pay rent for the past 2 years, she has been to court 3 times an each time the Judge has refused to evict the non paying tenant as he would become homeless. I also needed to take my last tenant to court to have the deposit after he left and the judge did not award cleaning cost only £70 or the cost of repainting as he said it was reasonable to expect the new tenants to clean or repaint if they don't like the smoke damage! Needless to say we bore the cost of this. Insurance is a must!

  8. Hello, I am Australian and have been living in the UK for the last 7 years. My husband( English) and I have decided to return to Perth permanently. We applied for his visa (subclass 309) back in September 2012, Medical completed in December 2012. He has been told he meets the requirements for the visa and is now in a "queue" for it to be issued. My husband was made redundant a week before Christmas and we contacted to embassy to find out when the visa was likely to be processed as we thought about moving earlier as I was always facing redundancy. we were told it would be issued approximately April 2013. however was told he could enter on a tourist visa and then when the partner visa was ready would need to leave Australia and then re enter. We decided to stick to our plans of moving in May. We booked our flights only £400 each with emirates! For the 21st of May. We contacted the embassy just to advise them we had booked the flights but knew the risks and were told the Visa is more likely to come through in June now. Has any one else entered Australia on the tourist visa whilst waiting for the partner visa to come through ? was there any problems with traveling on a one way ticket ? Thanks
