  1. sounds sensible to me then there would be no rushing or panicking closer to time, once visa is granted you still have time to activate it you don't need to go right away and then you are also able to make multiple entry's on a partners visa. Someone will be able to give you an exact time but i am sure its up to something like a year after your medicals and police checks for your IED initial enrty date. First time i have offered advise hope its correct and helpful
  2. Thanks Cal i already have a PR visa, as wife is Australian, and a job offer with VW garage, its just a recruitment company got in touch with me as i am arriving in Perth on June 20th and had applied for a few jobs to get a feel of employment, and they are asking some questions and what qualifications i had. When i worked for Audi we all have to do exams to be approved and was told this is accepted in USA and Australia. Thanks for getting back to me. Kirk
  3. Does anyone know of any British mechanics who have came out with ATA recognition not sure if this is recognised, was told it was when i was doing my service technician assessment but still a bit unclear. Any help would be great
  4. Great news Tulip, VF was my CO too and thought she was great heard people on hear moaning about her, cant see why. So glad for you, we fly out two weeks tomorrow now to perth, cant wait. It does look like the waiting time is coming down too though so wonder how the next lot of applicants will get on.
  5. cant say for sure whats best but we used crown relocations on a shared container. Our stuff was put into our own separate pallet which is then loaded into the actual container. Havnt received it at other end yet but have been told its two weeks for clearance anyway so not expecting it any sooner. Cant see how anyone else's belongings should affect yours tbh
  6. Hi George you always seem to have the right answers i like it a lot. Can i just ask a something it seems you have already answered, my wife has Australian passport and is a citizen my daughter and i have permanent partners visa 100 does that mean we can all go down the Australian passport line, as we all know that is a good bit shorter lol
  7. Thanks very much, its been a great load lifted of knowing there is work in Perth for me and to have an offer already.
  8. Good morning everyone, looking for some advice. I am a VW Audi senior technician and had sent my CV and training record to the Audi garage in Perth. As emigrating there on june 20th, and was trying to get a feel for employment and conditions. The manager has been back and forward with me and is wanting to employ me and asked what salary i am after? Does anyone know what kind of money good Technicians get or can ask for over in Perth? Any help would be appreciated. Kirk
  9. I am interested in this because I am going over on a partner visa and am a vw audi mechanic, I am ATA accredited and have approached both vw and audi garages over in Perth with my cv and training record, neither one has asked for Australian skills test documents but both shown interest in employing me. Think I will watch this thread. Good luck though
  10. I had her and thought she was great, straight to the point just what is required I think. Got ours through ahead of schedule.
  11. We have a 2 and a half year old and another one due in September and are moving to duncraig, I will pop back on the forum once we arrive in June and see if that is north of the river lol
  12. Sorry what does NOR mean i hope i dont sound really stupid here
  13. thanks very much for that guys, really appreciate getting back to me so quickly
  14. Hi everyone, hope i am not boring anyone but after a bit of information please. I have just been granted a partner visa subclass 100, my wife, daughter and myself are moving to Perth on June 20th, I am a VW Audi mechanic and have been looking around for work in the Perth area, i have to go and see a few people when we arrive who are interested inn employing me, which is good news but i am unsure how i go about being able to work do i need to apply for a work number or is it all done through my passport and visa, here in the UK we need our National Insurance number to work just wondered if there is an equivalent over there, any help would be great
  15. Yeah we are very excited. Flights booked for June 20th and can't wait to arrive in Perth out daughter is very excited and that gives us just enough time for my wife who is pregnant again to fly so our next one who is due August to be a wee ozzy baby. Hope you enjoy Asia I'm sure you will have a ball especially knowing when you come back it will be on the visa you been waiting on. Yeah it was early for us really thought it was gonna be June to be honest. Really happy. Oznic22 we are married have one kid and another one on the way, I don't think that has anything to do with early grant, as its a family based visa all personal circumstances are important, I'm sure I read that somewhere. But certainly not gonna complain with my time period of grant. Good luck though
  16. Well it must be the month of handing them out just got my email through been granted and its the subclass 100. Just been jumping about the place, Perth here we come:biggrin:
  17. Did your CO know you had flights tomorrow or where you just waiting and hoping. Congratulations to you and all the best
  18. Sorry about the naming thing was not aware of that and didnt really mean it either. Thanks again for the info snifter, also seen other thread on this about this visa in particular might start in there. We are heading out to Perth, going to Duncraig. Weare currently in Edinburgh and you all know how poor scottish weather is lol
  19. Thanks very much for that George, had a look and typed in our details looking worst case would be start of June to be granted, I emailed V my CO start of January to let her know Emma was pregnant again, i think it best we speak to Emirates and find out the latest she can fly out and if its going to be a problem, I think i might maybe email her again and see if there is anything that can be done. Dont want to pester or annoy her i am sure there are people in similar situations.
  20. Does that mean 8 or 9 months from now or from September last year? Yeah she is going to speak to Emirates next week about flying. Are you able to do that snifter is it public or is it just something you can find out that would be an amazing thing to get a heads up on
  21. Sorry applied for this visa start of september 2012
  22. Yeah we gave them bills, bank statements our marriage details car ownership and insurance, statements from people and us, photos of when we started dating and holidays etc, flight tickets for holidays all that kind of stuff. She did ask for me to fill in one more part of form i missed out and then confirm daughter was coming on my visa then she sent back statements and photos and bills etc less than a month after receiving application, that was what was worrying me it all seemed to be going very easy and quickly at start then 3 months later medicals and police checks where sent to her and then got that email, dont know if it was just because it is clear we are a solid family unit that and been together and married with kids that it is going smoothly or if its like that for everyone, just always hear the dreaded stories of how difficult these applications are and ours seems to be very smooth. In no great hurry to get over except my wife is expecting our second child in august, so would like to be over mid june so we can have it there, that will be 10 months after our application started so hoping will it will be through by then. Thanks to everyone who has posted so far you have been great, hope its always like this.
