1. Hi All, how long does it take for this first phase, if the applicant is from high risk country??? any guess guys?
2. Hi Lebourvellec, another question if you don't mind. the application is lodged decision ready. if we add another applicant i.e. partner to the application, will it be considered non-decision ready?
3. hi lebourvellec, what if they can provide marriage certificate? Does DIAC still ask for reasons why they are apart so far? my friend is in similar situation. he lodged 187 being offshore. and he's getting married soon. can he include his partner in his application by providing marriage certificate if he doesn't get approved his visa before his marriage? Your thoughts are much appreciated. thanks in advance.
4. Hi Blossom. Thank you for the reply. yes he has as agent.
5. Hi Move2, thank you for your reply. He would find it out with his MA.
6. Hi Blossom, need a piece of advice. one of my friends have applied for 187 visa Dec-12, and expecting a CO in a couple of months. He is also getting married soon. So he was wondering if he get's married by the time he gets a CO allocated, would he be able to add his partner to his application. He is offshore at the moment. what will be the possible options for him?
7. Come on DIAC, grant some visas to keep our hopes alive. there are people waiting for too long. This thread is becoming pale and inactive. Please cherish......at least 2 visas a day......
8. hi there, what are the obligations of 186 visa holders? do they have to commit 2 years with the employer?
9. Woww....Congrats Sahara77, it's pretty quick, can you share your timeline and occupation if you don't mind?
10. Hi Alan, Was that policy meant for Certificate and diploma qualifications? How about Bachelors and Masters degrees? I have recently applied for 187 and hold Masters degree from Australian uni, but i don't have 2 years of relevant experience, how would I count it?
11. Hi Move2, Yes my file is DRC, my occupation is QA Manager, my qualification is Master of Science from Australia itself. So would u reckon it will be any faster?
12. Hi Syd84, I guess you are right. I am sharing a link that I thought relevant. Please go through. http://dlegal.com.au/migration-main-menu/employer-sponsored-work-visa-australia/65-rsms-employer-sponsored-regional-work-visa-austral/1623-unannounced-regional-employer-sponsored-187-rsms-visa-policy-change.html
13. I have got my nomination and visa (187) applied on 2nd june 2013 Melbourne PSE, Anybody on same day? any guess on how long it may take to get a CO (stupid question, but nothing wrong to ask isn't it?)
14. Hi Tasha22, I am not sure if my story will help you, however I thought it would give you some idea. I went to Australia on a student visa, completed my Masters in 2 years, then applied for temporary residency. I was on bridging visa, got a full time job. My TR was rejected straight away (without any notification) on the grounds that my MA didn't provide correct information to department. I was given an option to go for MRT or 28 days to leave. My company sponsored me but this time i have got an insult to the injury, another MA applied for PR (119) on 28th day without going for MRT. they applied paper based visa, so the rejection letter took a week to reach my employer, I overstayed that week. I had to go to department to seek BVE, and departed Australia. Case officer told me I have 3 years ban however i can lift it. you might be able to see an expert agent to get over with it though exy. go offshore and apply for a partner visa.
15. Hello Guys, got something to share. I have heard that if an applicant owes money to banks or private institutions like mobile service providers, visa will not be granted until or unless the applicant pays the due. How true is it?
16. Hi Blossom, thanks for your reply. however my question was about time. for example Processing Centre Nominations Visas Parramatta 3 weeks 7 weeks Melbourne 3 weeks 3 weeks So the 3 weeks for visa in melbourne center. What does that visa refer to? is it bridging visa? You mean the bit about if your visa is running out? No, a bridging visa doesn't run out. They are to bridge you from one substantive visa to another. They mean if you are on say a 457 or student visa that is running out close to when you apply then you need to tell them so they can make sure they do put you on the bridging visa.
17. Guys, with Post 1st July applications in the given message, does visa refers to bridging visa? Post 1 July 2012 Applications Due to the large volume of applications lodged before 1 July 2012 our current allocation of e-lodged cases is limited. At the moment our system is not readily identifying applications declared as “Decision Ready” by a registered migration agent. As an interim measure we suggest that you send an email to the relevant processing office mailbox advising that the application is decision ready with the TRN number highlighted in the subject line. Please ensure that the application is decision ready. E-LODGED APPLICATIONS AND ENQUIRIES We are currently experiencing delays issuing acknowledgement letters and bridging visas for applications lodged online. This is the result of a system limitation which requires the manual entry of the details of each application in our system. Please note that this also affects the time taken for your application to appear in VEVO. When you complete an application on-line you will receive a Transmission Record Number (TRN) and confirmation of payment (where applicable). Please consider this as evidence that your application was successfully lodged. The timeframes for acknowledgement letters, bridging visas and entry into VEVO are:

Processing Centre Nominations Visas

Parramatta 3 weeks 7 weeks

Melbourne 3 weeks 3 weeks

Perth 1 week 1 week

If your visa is ceasing within twenty one (21) days of lodging your application (7 days for Perth) explain this in the body of the email and include the word URGENT in the subject line. System Upgrade – 23 November 2012 A system upgrade is scheduled for 23 November which will automate the processing of acknowledgement letters, bridging visas and the entry of applications into VEVO. Any application lodged after close of business 26 October will be held over to be automatically processed on 23 November 2012. If your current visa will cease during this period you should explain this in the body of the email and include the word URGENT in the subject line. Attachments for e-lodged applications We appreciate that there have been some challenges around e-lodging attachments. All supporting documentation for e-lodged applications however should be uploaded through the e-lodge system as they will be automatically filed and linked to your case. Attachments forwarded by other means have been known to go astray causing delays in the finalisation of the application. Please ensure that you are familiar with the advice around attachments on the DIAC website. NOTE: The only documents that should be mailed/emailed to processing centers are those specifically requested by the case officer. PROCESSING TIMEFRAMES Once your application is allocated to a case officer they will attempt to conduct their assessment in the following working week. If a decision cannot be made quickly they will write to you and provide their contact details. Please refrain from making general “status” enquiries to the case officers, especially where your application is within service standards. There are a range of factors that can impact the processing time of an application, including: - whether the application was complete at time of lodgement; - how quickly you respond to requests to provide documentation; - complications obtaining health clearances; - if police checks haven’t been completed they may take significant time to obtain; and - checks with third parties to verify claims made in an application. The Department’s published service standards for the processing of ENS/RSMS applications can be found at: http://www.immi.gov.au/about/charters/client-services-charter/visas/8.0.htm While we attempt to finalise all applications as soon as possible, the service standards acknowledge that 25% of cases will be finalised outside of these time frames. INTERESTED IN APPLYING FOR ENS/RSMS? You will not receive a response to your email if your query relates to any of the following scenarios. Please refer to the following information and where applicable re-direct your query as instructed below. Information about applying for ENS/RSMS The processing centre is not able to respond to pre-lodgement enquiries. The following links to the department’s website however provide information about ENS/RSMS visas: - Information Booklet No. 5 Employer Sponsored Migration -  Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) -  Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (subclass 187) - Skillselect Note: While ENS and RSMS visas have been located on the DIAC website
