  1. Unfortunately the time frame is only a guideline :-( so when they say 5-6 months it could be more or less due to holidays ir sick leave etc
  2. See post6524 on pg 653, on my ph at the mo and don't know how to copy and paste link,
  3. Tuesday is 5 months. i feel like the end of a pregnancy, praying to go 2 weeks early, but fearing i'll be 2 weeks over.
  4. Apparently they have a quota they can grant, and due to the high levels of applications the granting time was extended on july 1st. We are still better off than the bangkok applicants who have a 12 month waiting time.

  6. Hi, I asked this same question a few months ago. The reply I got was pretty much that if they have an issue they will ask for further info to give you the best chance for a grant. And once you receive 'no further info required' email, then it's just a matter of waiting. I have been reading this thread for about 6 months, during which time I haven't heard/read of any refusals. I could be making the same assumption as you, but going from what I've seen/read it's a pretty safe conclusion.
  7. anyone who applied before July 1st, was given a waiting time of 5-6 months, and those who applied on or after july 1st were given 8-9 months waiting. it's to do with the numbers applying. They can only grant so many a day, and as more and more apply the waiting list gets longer and longer. Had we applied when we initially had planned to it would have been a 3-4 month wait. yes it sucks, but thats life, alot of aussies are wanting to go home, and want to bring their husbands/wives with them. ETA: those who apply through Bangkok are being given a 12 month wait!
  8. We applied mid June, CO was appointed on 20th June, Medical was completed on 29th June, Police cert sent around July 10th. We got our 'no further info required letter' on 17 July. We were never told if OH had 'passed' the medical or police check, but we weren't asked for any further info or clarification on anything, so taking it to mean he passed. Now all we have to do is wait. best of luck with the wait
  9. I find it strange that they limit them when they can't cap them, effectively limiting them is capping. As for May applicants being granted before all April applicants are granted, I think this is due to case officers. I think they each get a pile and work through them at their own rate, not making up for missed days, and having none granted on those days. So If like us you have a CO who has had holidays and been off sick, this will push your grant date further back. I wouldn't put money on our visa being granted before or on the 6 month mark. Not sure if this is the case, but it seems to be.

  11. that's what I've been hoping, but just looking for the confirmation  After several hours of trawling through govt sites, my head is spinning , so from this its looking positive..... thanks Ihigman
  12. Hi all. I have a quick question, although not directly related to getting our spouse visa, it's connected. What's the story with centerlink payments, particularly parenting payments, rent assist, and the child tax A and B payments??? From filling out the visa application form I have some recollection of reading that the applicant can't receive any payments for 2yrs, but can the sponsor??? After having read some threads about failed migrations I've begun to freak out a bit that we won't make it, and don't fancy returning to Ireland broke with 5 kids. So I have spent the evening looking through the payments available, and with them there as back-up I know we'll do it, but just wondering has anyone any experience of claiming any payments??? Thanks for all the help
  13. when did they ask for the extra stuff? was it at the beginning when you submitted, or closer to the grant date? We're married 12 yrs and have 5 kids, so no doubt as to being a 'genuine relationship'. Just curious though that every one just sends their stuff off and gets an email saying all is fine, it will be granted in 6-9 months. If they can say it 'will be granted', why not just grant it? (teehee guess who hates waiting?)
  14. I did all this for my 5 girls about 2 yrs ago. I got their 5 passports and mine all done together, and don't recall it costing too much, I think I thought it was cheaper, or at least easier than getting them Irish passport. Check out http://www.ireland.embassy.gov.au/dubl/Passports.html

  16. I am thinking the same way, no news is good news. But I am also wondering has anybody been refused, for the spouse visa that is. I could understand the prospective marriage visa been refused, but has anyone married with kids been refused? We have another 3-4 months to wait, and it's beginning to worry me, I'm not good with sitting back and waiting, I prefer to take a proactive approach and do something, but this is in the laps of the 'visa gods' :arghh:
