If I remember rightly you need to put TRA as the assessing authority, think they use vetassess for sparkies but its TRA you need to put on form I think!!

Hi My OH applied 15th June and no response yet. although they did email on 1st July to say the application would be considered under the 190 visa subclass and could take up to 12 weeks so I guess its 12 weeks from 1st July.....more waiting!!

Hi Davina Thanks for your message. We needed the points on the old system but not now as we already have 60 but without state sponsorship we could wait an age to get invited under skill select with only the minimum points so we will now consider other states to live in. We are gutted cos we have lots of friends who live in NSW but if there aren't any jobs for electrcians then it just wouldn't work. We're getting over the bad news slowly and trying to take the 'everything happens for a reason' attitude! Again, thanks for message :smile:

Hi guys My OH got his response from NSW yesterday - it was a decline :frown: Say they don't nominate Electrcians any more We are gutted as the new list has not been posted on their website yet but were still happy to take our $300 nevertheless to tell us its not! What to do now? :cry:

Yesterday my OH got declined by NSW for state sponsorship. Their reason was that Electricians are no longer being nominated by NSW for this visa subclass. We are absolutely gutted and were not expecting this. As far as we can see, please correct me if I'm wrong, electrician (general) is on the SOL list and also on NSW SOL. We had to pay $300 to apply and feel a bit hard done by to be honest. We are using an emmigration agent also who surely would have told us that NSW don't sponsor electricians any more?? We are to speak to the agent today but what a waste of time and money. NSW are still yet to post their 2012-2013 SOl list and feel until they have posted this they should not be taking our money to reject us! Any thoughts guys? Gutted:cry:

Hi Jenny Wow, all systems go for you guys then? My OH is an electrician too. I have seen lots of very useful information on this on the Electrcians thread. Its a long thread but from what I have read it pretty much tells you everything you need to do! Good luck and keep us all posted :biggrin:

Hi Have you had any communication from them at all? I have read that others who submitted prior to 1st July got an email on 1st or 2nd July saying that their application had been received and would be dealt with under new visa rules and would take up to 12 weeks so they seem to have started everything as if application was only submitted on 1st July Maybe some-one else has 1st hand experience though?

Its not just for the kids its for lots of different reasons but obviously the kids are a huge consideration and I need to factor in all things as I'm sure you'll appreciate
