  1. Sounds wonderful!! Your comments re the children are reassuring too! Hope you have a good journey to Melbourne - keep us posted on your adventure and what its like there! Happy days ahead!!
  2. Hi guys Did you all get all your documents certified by a solicitor before uploading? I have read some people have just done a colour scan of the original? Anyone had uncertified docs accepted please? Thanks
  3. I only gave my TRN and they emailed me back with ID's
  4. Hi For those of you struggling with ehealth ID's if you email health.strategies@immi.gov.au they will email you with your ID's - they responded very quickly too! Good luck guys, the technology problems are driving me nuts!!!
  5. Hi My OH has been sponsored by Victoria as an electrician. We understand that he will only be able to have a 'restricted license' for the first 12 months. Firstly can we get this before we go to speed things up? Secondly, we have understood that he will have to go to college and work supervised for 12 months before he can get a grade A license and get paid as a fully qualified electrician. However there is a course in SA whereby you can get your A license after their 2 week course. As it is different in each state, does anyone know if he can do this course and transfer his a license to Victoria? Long shot I know but if anyone knows anyone that might know the system, we would really appreciate it!! Thanks all
  6. Hi all We submitted our visa application on 19th September and have been struggling to do anything since. It seems like there are technical issue but just wanted to be sure. When we attempt to Check Visa Progress we get the message that 'This Service is Temporarily Unavailable'. When I told the e-clinic we have chosen about this she said as far as they were concerned its working. Has anyone else had problems? We can't arrange medicals or upload anything because of this. Is it just us? :err:
  7. Thanks Petals I think I'm definitely going to be asking you many a question as our time approaches - you know the area well!
  8. Thanks Pity The Fool - you have cheered up 1 reluctant 10 year old!!! :notworthy:
  9. Hi memmymooch - thanks so much for your post - really really wish we could do a reccie but don't think we can afford to do that and need to get my 10 yr old into school asap - my 7 yr old will be fine. When you say everything is spread out, do you mean between houses or between housing estates? Do you see kids playing out? My son wants to know if there are any skate parks!!! That is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING!!! Please keep me posted about your reccie and what you decide - it would be really helpful to us. Might be good to keep in touch with kids being similar ages etc?
  10. cwl - thanks so much for your post - was really helpful - we have a 7 year old and 10 year old so i will keep in touch for sure if you don't mind me picking your brains!!
  11. Hi Kimsdu - thanks that would be most helpful! Could I also ask you about medicals - am I ok to do them befor getting CO? If so how do I go about it - I rang a clinic who said my TRN had not been activated?
  12. Hi all Can anyone help with when to apply for medicals - I have seen on DIAC website that for 190 visa its ok to do before you get CO allocated however my agent told me not to. Thing is I haven't trusted a word she has said all along and have proven her wrong on many occasions! I had actually already rang a clinic in Manchester but they said my TRN wasn't activated. What do I need to do to activate mu TRN for medicals - you wouldn't beleive I have paid a lot of money for an agent would you??!! Thanks guys
  13. Hi guys, I can now officially join this thread - lodges our 190 last night!!!! Another £2k down, lol! Going to book medicals today. Anyone know how we go about police checks?
  14. Hi cis59 thanks for your help, however we woke up this morning to find we have been invited to apply for visa!!! Hurrah!! Where are you thinking of going?
  15. Hi NSW are no longer sponsoring electricians - we got declined a couple of months back when sparkies were taken off the. If you wanted state sponsorship would need to pick a different state so think 467 is your best option
  16. Hi Kimsdu It was Victoria SS - Just dying to finally get the visa application in and seeing you all do it makes me want to join in!!!! Keep reminding myself patience patience patience but I'm not sure what the process is - do they make invites on a regular basis? Hope so!!!
  17. Hi All Sorry for gatecrashing this thread ( I am hoping to join v soon!!) but my OH got his state sponsorship on 12th Sept which we accepted by return but are still awaiting for an invitation to apply for 190 visa. Is there something I am missing? Getting little frustrated as most of you guys had yours within 24 hours!! Please help  Thanks
  18. Yeah I am a sun lover too but my son (10 yrs) can't stand it!! As long as its not raining all the time and we get the weather to enjoy an outdoor life then I think we'll be happy. I do hate the cold though so will maybe have to look at having our home fully insulated when we eventually buy! My fingers are crossed for good weather!!! Thanks again
  19. One more thing.......is the weather really that bad in Victoria??? Lots of people complaining on here - is a good summer pretty much guaranteed or is it really as unpredictable as the UK?
  20. Brilliant, thanks a lot for your help, I feel a little better already!
  21. So I am far enough out of Melbourne in your opinion there? I don't need to go as far as Shepparton for example? Thanks so much for your response, this is so hard choosing somewhere blind!!!
  22. Hi all Have just obtained Victoria state sponsorship and are now trying to find an area where we can settle. Minefield as we've never been before. We are not city people and would hate to live too near the city but don't know realistically how far we need to move away from Melbourne to know that we're not in the city if that makes sense?! Don't want to live in the sticks but like a relaxed pace of life with open spaces. We have 2 kids aged 7 and 10 so schools are high on our priority list. Would Mornington, Berwick, Mount Martha etc be suitable in terms of the comments we have made and are there many job opportunities in those areas for construction trades (electrician) or is it a likely commute to Melbourne? I appreciate I am asking a lot here, but if anyone lives in those areas or know of them, just some general pointers would be very much gratefully received!! Thanks guys
  23. Finally got our Victoria State Sponsorship yesterday, 12th September!! Hurrahh!!! :jiggy:
  24. Hi Whelehan Do you mind me asking the date you lodged your Vic SS and occupation? Did you get accepted?
