  1. Head to East Anglia - Cambridge or Norwich.
  2. Hoang, you've taken a fair bit of stick with this post, maybe the way you have come across (unintentionally). I identified a fair bit with what you were saying; I too dislike the Mon-Fri office job type roles and have been a shift worker for almost 20 years. Yes, you have to get used to early starts, late finishes, weekend and public holiday work so shift work is certainly not for everyone. For me the positives (3 or 4 days off at a time, better pay, not travelling during peak hour, etc) outweigh the negatives. Have a look at operational roles in the transport sector (aviation, rail, ports, etc) as these are typically 24hr industries. As the others have mentioned, it is of course important that you find something you enjoy - dragging yourself out of bed at the crack of dawn on a Sunday would be no fun if you disliked your work. Good luck!
  3. Sounds like you had some bad luck there. I've flown with Qatar three times and think they are very good. There isn't a whole separating the top airlines tbf, but Qatar's Economy seemed to have the best pitch and legroom of their competitors.
  4. $10.20 for a pint of Fat Yak at my local a few km from the CBD. Other beers and ciders range between $9-$11.
  5. Sounds wonderful. Shame you're handcuffed in Perth, hey....
  6. But surely this does already happen in the inner city suburbs? Northbridge, Mt Lawley, Leederville, Vic Park all have buzzy strips whereby cafes and shops open late. Even in rainy Beaufort St last night, there were plenty of people out enjoying the amenities. You have a very warped view of life in Perth and I actually doubt that you currently reside here. The Perth you constantly describe maybe have been accurate a number of years ago but not anymore.
  7. 6pm actually. And who really wants to go clothes shopping / banking / run general errands on weekend evenings anyway? Shift workers? Don't think so as that is why they(we) have DIL's during the week.
  8. Are you really comparing 3 European capitals (and the largest city in Holland) to Perth? A low blow, even by your standards Flag.
  9. Vic Park is definitely worth a look also as it is a little cheaper than Mt Lawley, Leederville and Subi but is just about the same distance from the CBD. Plenty of restaurants, a sprinkling of pubs / bars, good community and excellent transport links too. One downside is that it is a bit further to the coast.
  10. Zara is cheaper in Aus than the UK. However, it is Zara. And Zara sells pretty low-quality clothing, by and large.
  11. Flag is just a troll - he will say anything just to stir it up. Shame really as he used to be worth listening to but is rapidly disappearing up his own bottom..
  12. This tells you all you need to know about Flag's mindset - someone who prefers a hot and humid climate to a hot and dry one (he has clearly never lived in such tropical conditions for any length of time). Keep stirring up the forum with your senseless tripe, Flag. Your posts become more irrelevant by the day...
  13. This is not shocking to anyone working in the iron ore industry though. As long as the price doesn't drop below $80 per tonne over the next couple of years, then the larger companies will see that as something of a small win. It will, however, hurt the minor players in the Sector with their much smaller profit margins...
  14. So I guess you'll be taking your own advice and finally fleeing Perth, Flag?
  15. Just curious myself. You constantly berate the place you live in and never have a good word to say. I hope your life takes a turn for the better soon and you are able to free yourself from the shackles of Perth. Cheerio.
