  1. Thanks to all and I will reply to each of you in due course this has given me a lot to think about and to investigate further, they did seem the real deal during the consultation but firms can talk the talk sometimes! I will look in to go Matilda and have a chat with them, failing that I may just go it alone with the help and and advise from people whom have had experiences in here
  2. Hi Mate what was involved with the EOI? What should I expect?
  3. Hi Biddy17 thanks for your reply, much helpful. i will check on the whole MARA approved side of things, there fees from what they have said don't seem to steep but keen to try alone as going over with as much money as possible is key! This company will also try for the 189 and the 190 visa giving better chances I guess? If I do go it alone I'm going to try for the 189 visa, how was the assessment for you one of our friend has done it along with his English tests which he said the English tests were harder than the assessment ! how come your going for the 190 visa? Is this the one where you get state sponsorship ? where in the UK are you based and what are your reasons for taking the plunge into the unknown?
  4. Hi everyone just seeing if any fellow UK electricians have had any experience with a company called Electricians Australia? Myself and my family are in the early stages of starting our migration process over to oz and we have studied extensively the routes and processes of obtaining our visas including getting my trades assessed but I have been approached by this company whom will act as an agent I guess taking us through all the way in to oz helping with every stage including all my trade assessments included and all other relevant fees, English tests, medicals, visas , employment. I know I could take the risk and do everything on my own but with the daunting task of the visa process it maybe a good idea to have someone there helping along they even tho it means paying a small fee for the privilege! if any one can share there own experiences of this company or other companies they may of used this would be greatly appreciated thanks
  5. Hi Que sera, sera I am an electrician and my partner is a beauty therapist, I am currently going through the fist stages of having my qualifications assessed by vetassess and will get this under my belt before applying for our visa.
  6. Hi scruffy What were your reasons for originally moving out to OZ and how long were you out there for? What did you do for work and how was the cost of living. Thanks
  7. Hi Im looking for advise from UK sparks or UK migrants in Australia whom have arrived with in the last five weeks, I am about to start my training with vettasses here in the UK and thus beginning our adventure and starting our visa process. I have a colleague who has just passed his trade assessment as an electrician and I have no problems with passing this either, my question is would I have to obtain my A class licence before I arrive or is this something you can only get while in Australia? I am also interested in hearing how people are coping with there new way of life and if they are happy or not? Is the cost of living bearable? As we are a family of 5 moving to Australia we are keen on feed back about the cost of living above all else.? I look forward to what you have to say and know doubt it will open up for other questions regarding your experiences and routes you have taken. thanks.
  8. Hi Quoll Many thanks for your feed back its always good to hear both sides, I am interested where in Australia you and your family settled or lived? We do have children and we would want to give them a life like no other. With all you have mentioned and taking into consideration the great distance there would be between our family's we are still determined to give it ago. The main things apart from work would be a suitable community with good schools and local amenities that ticked all the right boxes so the trans-scission fitting in would be as smooth as possible for them. We are currently looking at western Australia or Victoria??
  9. We have been mulling over moving to Australia for about 5yrs, a lot of people say we wouldn't be better off financially but our quality of life would be so much better. I worry that I'd be working every hour and my partner will be on her own with the kids with no other support. We know we would have to put ourselves out there but how willing are people, taking in new people into there community?
