  1. Do it yourself, we did... if you have an agent or not you still have the stress of it, all they do really is put your name in the box (well, a little more to it then that. But you know what i mean), So do it yourself and save alot of cash and with that cash you save, you can buy yourself a BIG top of the range BBQ for the garden and still have cash for a few slabs of P**S(case of beer)...
  2. Congratulations to you and your and the gang... When are you looking at going...
  3. Hi there, yes we did it online in the end, Still waiting for the bloody things to arrive... The consent form is partly filled out with my name, date of birth and reference number, What you do is print it off and fill in the relevant bits and sign, and scan color copies of your ID that your going to use and send... Not much really, The points bit is just your proof of id, Like a full birth certificate and passport will give you 70 point each giving you a total of 140 points and you need a minimum of 100,But if you dont have them, there are other bit of id you can use with different point for different bits of ID... What i will do is edit mine and take off my details and send it to you to see if that will be any good for you... Hope that made sence... I got confused and i wrote it...
  4. Hi guys, sheps OH here, i too am awaiting meds to be finalsied, my partners say recieved and finalised and mine still say refered, status changed this morning. I have just rang spire hospital and she informed me that the spire have a duty to inform the applicant if anything is wrong or they are worried with anything in the medicals eg blood results and xray results. She stated that refered simply means that the medical people at immigration in oz are looking at the results( and prob taking there time doing it too!) its purely down to the individual case officer, some will leave medicals as simply"recieved" while they are looking at them and some will choose to put"refered". so refered doesnt actually mean there is a prob....... so we can all breath a sigh of relief. god its stressfull, in the last couple of hours ive managed to convince myself i am seriously ill!!!the stress of visas! but will all be worth it.

  19. I lost my Stella (in my profile picture) in November 2011, She was a massive part of my life... When she went, it was a family member that we lost, NOT a dog... Some people dont and will never know what a bond can be between a dog and a human.. They do become family, because to a dog you are there family, a dog will always love you for what you are,not looks, not money, But you......Dave......
  20. Thanks for the reply, So do you think that i would be able to apply online, as posting it would take longer...
  21. Hi there all, could anyone help with a Australian police check... When on the diac website it gives you the following address for a Australian police check http://www.afp.gov.au/~/media/afp/pdf/n/national-police-check-application-form.ashx... But i have found you can apply online at https://afpnationalpolicechecks.converga.com.au/ does anyone know if it would OK for me to apply with the online version... Also it asks for the previous addresses in the last 10 years, i can put down my address from 2005 to now But from 2003 to 2005 i was in Australia backpacking around and stayed at many hostels. So how do i go about that, surely i wouldn't have to put down every hostel would i ( there were loads and maybe only stayed at them for about 1 day to about 3 months... Any help would be great... DaVe...

    royal brunei

Hi there, i have been with The mighty Brunei Airlines and like Maruska says, it was a bit nerving when a pray came on about a safe flight, the first half of the flight when the pray first came on the dodgy old tv screen it had no subtitles but when we changed airplanes at Abu Dhabi that one had subtitles, that's when we was reading about having a safe flight:huh:... Also no booze and i didnt think the food was that good... The worst thing was, about 2 week before we was flying, British airways suspended all flights going to Saudi Arabia for the fear of some kind of terrorist attack, BUT it was cheap...
  23. Hello there and hope the backpacking goes well for you... I went backpacking for 2 years in Australia and i loved every minute of it and when it was time to come back home, i didnt want to... When you get there you will find that there is a lot of backpackers in the same boat as you (traveling alone) and you will quickly make friends and end up traveling with different people to different destinations... You find that Australia is well made for the backpacker, hostels every were... Just dont make the same mistake that i have seen with a lot of backpackers while i was there, when they have been there for about 3 to 6 months they start to get home sick and start thinking about there family and friends and all the excitement and fuss that's going to happen when they get back... And believe me,when you do get back, all that excitement and fuss only lasts for about 3 days then its back to normal, the same old thing day in day out... i have seen a lot of these people and some have even gone back to Australia to finish the rest of there visa off(an expensive thing to do)... So keep out there for the entire Visa, because if you dont you will end up regretting it and you only have the one WHV... Like i said. i went out there for 2 years and met a lot of friends, i even met my partner out there as she was backpacking and we met in a working hostel. I had some of the the best times of my life out there with many of stories. i enjoyed it that much we are now applying for a permanent 176 visa to live life out there... Sorry for the little rant, i got a little carried away...Long Live The Dream...and enjoy the journey
