Hi All I am currently in the UK, having applied for citizenship before I left Oz. I am shortly having to return to Oz to await approval of my citizenship. I think I will have to return back to the UK after my approval has come through (personal family stuff). So, my question is, does anyone know if I will be able to return back to the UK AFTER approval but before my citizenship date? Also, will I get a date sent to me for my citizenship ceremony if I am in the UK or will I again have to return to Oz. Thanks HH

Hi Everyone I'm just about to apply online for my citizenship. I am a bit clueless as to whether I need to get my documents certified before I scan them and attach them to my application. The Citizenship website states that, when applying by post, the documents have to be certified but it doesn't state whether or not they have to be certified if applying online. Am I missing something......? I would appreciate it if anyone else could let me know what they did. Many thanks again to all the fantastic Poms-In-Oz folk! HH x

Hi Cal Thanks for that. I was just wondering what year you did your test. I was under the impression that you used to be able to book your test but that you can't book it now - I thought you just had to wait for a date to be sent. Do you, or anyone else, know if that is the case. Thanks x

Hello All I am applying for citizenship on 30 July, 4 years to the day that I arrived in Oz. A few days later I need to return to the UK for 6 weeks (family matters) - the question is: Will I be able to inform DIAC that I am away for that period of time and will they be able to send me a test date after this period. OR, do I definitely have to stay in Oz until I have taken the test? I know I am 'allowed' out of the country whilst I wait for my ceremony date but I am not sure if I am allowed out of the country whilst I wait for my test date. Many thanks HH

Hello Everyone Again I am asking the lovely PIO-ers for advice! I am planning on putting my application in for citizenship in July 2012 (when I have been here for four years). Do I have to be settled in one place whilst they process my application? I am planning on quitting my job mid 2012 and will be travelling around Oz for the next six or so months. That means I won't have a permanent residence in Australia whilst the application for citizenship is being processed, although I do have a friends address that everything can be mailed to. Do you think I would be able to do this or will I have to just stay in Victoria until the whole citizenship process has completed? Thanks in advance. HH
