  1. Thank you very much Ponte pom, very encouraging!!!!!! We trust our friend and to be honest its only short term and we plan to be out and about exploring the beautifull WA so not too worried about the houses not being up to scratch xx
  2. Hey guys, just to keep you updated, i have emailed several estate agents in perth about some properties we are interested in and explained our situation and they were all more than happy for our friend to view the property for us and to put in an application for us. We are just in the process of putting together some supporting documents, eg brochure of our house up for rent in the Uk to show we are house proud etc. photo of the dogs, to show they are small and clean looking etc, letter from our employees from oz(still awaiting these) visa grant letter, passports etc and covering letter saying a little bit about us (selling ourselves as decent people hehe!). When we have all of this ready we will be keeping a close eye on the houses and areas we are interested in and will be checking when the open dates are and our friend will be there, taking a million pics for us no doubt! yes some may say its a risk but to be honest, we are hoping to be spending the majority of our time (when not working!!)in the pool, by the pool barbqueing with a cold beer or down the beach or at the markets, not sat in the living room pondering on whether the carpet/ wallpaper is a close likeness of the pics on the net/ estate brochure. ps good lcuk Denni, may see you around kingsley, I will be the tanned, relaxed looking district nurse( have secured a job distrcit nursing based at kinglsey, my patch will be from cottesloe beach up to yanchep, talk about living the dream.......................
  3. Hey Guys Sheps OH here, just an update for you all. Sydney and Babys flights are booked for Novmeber 20th 930pm, flying heathrow to Sydney. Very tearfull moment when I was on the phone to Transfur and he confirmed the flights were booked. I broke down on the phone(looking back now bit embarrassed) i dont know if it was because it all seems real and I was discussing the practical issues and the actual flight with him and I just thought oh my poor little dogs. I know they will be absolutely fine but anyone who has ever loved a dog will know how i feel. Dogs flights containers also arrived yesterday, I tried to make it an exciting event and put loads of squeaky toys and treats in there and made it a big game so they associate the crates with positive things. The dogs have been in and out of them multiple times and seem very relaxed about them so I haven't been too emotional today, although TOTALLY TOTALLY dreading the goodbye at the airport, but am trying to block that thought as much as possible and think about the day my two are running free on a beach somewhere in sunny WA. thank you for everyone's help, lovely to have people to share anxieties and stories, my OH thinks im raving mad because all he can think about it insurance, renting our house, money etc etc.....:animal-dog:
  4. sorry partner has job in osborne park not kewdale !!
  5. Hey guys Sheps OH here. We will be arriving in Perth mid november 2012. i have a job district nursing in kingsley amd my partner has a job in kewdale tyre fitting. We are keen on the areas of Mullaloo, Ocean Reef , Sorrento and Hillarys. I also have fallen in love with Quinns Rocks but feel this may be too far out initially?? We would like to know if it is possible to secure a long term let whilst still in UK, we have a good friend in Perth who would do viewings for us and do the expression of interest , statements etc. does anyone have experience of securing a let in this way or any advise please . We are due to start work roughly 3 weeks after arriving so would love to get settled asap, plus our 2 dogs will be out of quarrantine after 30 days of arriving in oz so we would like to get then settled too. we have researched real estate au and found several properites we love, thank you for any help :wubclub:
  6. Hi there guys, i would like to tell you all that we got our VISA GRANTED this morning... We had the OHs meds finalised saturday morning then the vise today... Well guys good luck on all you that are still waiting, you will all soon have the meds done then that BiG VISA grant, it was a long wait for us with the meds, but its worth it in the end...
  7. Well Guys the OH`s Meds have been finalised today the 1.9.12 And on a saturday!!! So you never know we could have the cheeky little visa by the end of next week...:animal-sheep:
  8. Hi there, Unless things have changed since we did it. its that when we did it the paperwork that the NMC sent to AHPRA didnt contain the statement of entry as we got an email stating that it was needed, so we rang the NMC to see if they could send it straight to them and they said that they can only send it to us direct. So when we received it we just sent the hard copy straight to them so we didnt have to get it notified... I know how much of a pain in the backside this can be to do and when you think that's its all done they come up with somthing else... But im not saying that your wrong with the statement of entry but i would give the old NMC a ring just to check and make sure, coz if they haven't, its just another delay for you... GooD LucK... Dave...
  9. We had our meds on the 23.6.12 about 2 months ago, and that was the case then... Lizgats, are you from the UK also, just thinking if its different for different countries, Or if it has changed in the last 2 months!!!
  10. Sheps OH, If you are applying for a permenant visa you do Not have a routine hep b or c blood test. I am also a nurse and did not have either test. The only reason you or your OH require the hep b or hep b test is if you have what the panel Doc classes as 'extensive' tattoo work, up to his interpretation as to what 'extensive' means. My OH has large tattoo on his back and arm and so had to have the hep b and hep c tests which also entails an additonal cost which must be paid on the day, cant remember exact cost think it was £80ish. Hope this helps
  11. Hi there Pablo, OH = Other Half (my partner)...
  12. Good work, but could you edit mine as it says that mines finalised, mine is but the OHs is still referred so we are still waiting, Been over 6 weeks now:arghh: And also were are from the UK...
  13. Hi there, my partner has just recently done the all processes thing but shes out at the minute... But if it was the statement of entry that they want, that does not get sent with the other paper work that the NMC send to ANMAC or AHPRA, we know as when we were getting OH skill assessment done the statement of entry was the only thing missing, But if you dont have it, give NMC a ring and they will send you out another one for Free, think its the only thing that's been free in this all Visa application...
  14. Sheps OH here, Have a look at this website. www.dogwalks.au It comes highly recommended by a lot of dog lovers who also have first hand experience of using them. Looks like its actually run by proper doggy people too who really understand what a hard time people have when leaving their dogs in quarantine. prices look reasonable too. They actually post pics for the owners to see how their dogs are doing and will take in treats and toys etc. I will def be using them. hope this helps .
  15. Well, no movement this morning for us... The OH was referred on the 9th of July 6 weeks today... Its actually starting to drive us up the wall... I dont get that there no queuing system, its looks like its a case of grab the one off the top... How long as everyone been waiting... Like i say we have been waiting since the 9th of July...
  16. I know what you mean, every thing that involves the visa is a large waiting game, job assessment over a month, PCC (UK) about 3 weeks, Meds had them on the 23.6.12 and still waiting for the OH to be finalised,OZ Police check over 6 and a half weeks,AHPRA over 2 weeks,The 176 Visa applied on the 29.5.12 and still waiting... Like you say, ONE BIG wait
  17. Good morning Joanna82, sorry for the late update... I received mine and uploaded it to DIAC on wednesday 15.8.12 and the next day it said MET... There not quick at this at all are they, like i said i sent them an email and got a rely about a month later... You will receive an email to confirm that its on its way, I hate the waiting game and this was one of them... GooD LuCk and dont worry... When did you send yours off and are you in the UK...
  18. yep sounds about right to me, i have read that its approx $40-$100 sydney to perth so your estimate sounds about right. reasonable i think, or is that just cos by that time we would be willing to pay anything to get them back?!
  19. Thank you for your kind words. climate and temperature wernt something I had thought of. All this info has really reassured me in sending them to Sydney, it does infact after a lot of soul searching and refection seem kinder to send them to Sydney. They are my best friends so I know it wont be an easy ride being seperated from them but leaving them behind is just not an option. I have a little terrier too, rescue so we are not sure exactly what she is but we think patterdale cross jack russel, shes tiny and will no doubt cause a lot of mayhem at the kennels, she has a huge personality and somehow trouble always follows her! My other dog is also rescue so again we can only guess but he has the look of a corgi cross daschund, if you can ever imagine this, hes a sweet quiet soul, mummys boy. They squabble like siblings but im sure they will be a great confort to eachother while in kennels. thank you again x
  20. Its nice that they give you the dog walkers numbers, proves that they must be reliable and trusted walkers. FREE TOY.... my dogs really will think they are on holiday. I have also heard it is not very expensive for internal flights too, the shipper who informed me that perth is full( the guy who statred all this comotion hehe) can also organise the internal flights once they have completed quarantine so that sounds very helpfull too.
  21. Thank you for your advise, i think everyone has well and truly laid my fears to rest, the dogs WILL be going to Sydney. I also plan to find a trusted dog walker, like you say . Also being realsitic when i start my job it will prob be near on impossible to visit them during the last fortnight anyway . thank you I feel like ive had some sense talked into me today!!
  22. Great to hear an opinion from someone else who has had a resuce dog do their stint in quarantine. seems like your Oakley did well, minus the tooth hehe, I could deal with a missing tooth its just the emotional stress that I was concerned about. I will check out the dog walking website. like you, if plans go well we would be getting the dogs back in december so that thought would keep me sane, thinking of us being a family again ready for christmas down under, that and the thought of their first walk on the beach and paddle in the sea afeter their spell in quarantine.
  23. Thank you for your inside knowledge, I can see what you mean about the travel difficulties with Byford and I could imagine that I would feel even worse knowing that they were closer but I couldnt actually manage to visit them as much as i would like. i love the story about the woman who gave him a lift, how random but lovley.
