Hi Satsblr, I went with Fortis as that was near my part of town. They have a standard process, please call their reception and ask for an appointment. Doctors are not fixed and it takes about 2-3 hours for all the tests. All the best.

Hey 2Aussieboys - great news and enjoy ! I can see that you are an accountant as well. So what are your travel plans? All the best! Cheers

Congratulations ! Enjoy your good news ! Cheers

A PLE lodged now will only get you standard replies which you are already aware of. This is generally of no use - I have used this twice with gilch results. I am happy to be proved wrong and should be still worth a try - all the best.

Illuminati - mine got lost in the cracks with NSW sponsorship. I came to know of that when I called up DIAC. Then I called up NSW and requested them to resend again, which they did and I had the CO the very next day. Hope this helps. Cheers

Gareth, I note that you have a CO on 19th May ! Congrats

Hi Bubbe, if you are applying for a 175 visa, you do not need a sponsor. That is why they call it "independent". However, with the looming deadline of July 1st, from which date "skillselect" rules, kick in, you should really be fast on the draw to meet the exisiting criteria which include getting a skill assessment done for your ANZSCO (SOL1 occupation applicable to your case). Or else, go for the new rules and start the research on Skillselect. All the best !

Hi Luch, that is exactly what I did - listed down non migrating immediate family members in "others". Please note one point - there is a section on non migration dependents - in case you would like to list down a few names there, it is mandatory to have a health check up for them as well (dont ask me why ). You will be later be given an option to move them from "non migrating dependent" to "others" So it is safe to list down non migrating immediate family members (e.g your siblings) in "others" and restrict this to those related to primary applicant. WA timelines have gone back to their earlier efficient levels when it matters and thats good to see. All the best with your application. Cheers

Hi illuminati, have you checked with NSW Biz Migration as to when the Form 1100 was send to DIAC? Mine fell through the crack and I had to follow-up and get this done again. Hoping you good luck soon on your CO ! Cheers

This must be a record - feel proud, Kevinanderson ! All the best with the rest of the process, you are on the fast lane now. Cheers -
Hi Smithnigel, a very valid query and in fact I had this confusion sorted out as well. If you go through the General Skilled Migration Booklet 6 (1119) issued by DIAC, it talks about 2 sections - 1) basic requirements (if you dont meet these, you do not qualify as a GSM candidate - see page 9) and 2) Points for self assessment/Qualification. So, to answer your question, if you are not claiming points for experience, there is no need to do a employment assessment. For skill assessment for Accountant General and other ANZSCO codes, it is clearly given than "Work experience will not be accepted in lieu of formal qualifications. Work experience is assessed separately." Hope this helps - have you already applied ? All the best ! Cheers

Hi Anna, 176 application tells us to list down 1) migrating dependents 2) Non migrating dependents and 3) Other family members. What is "family" is not defined and hence apart from immediate blood relations (i.e parents and siblings), you may not mention, unless they are dependant on you or migrating with you. If you are still not sure, you can seek help from DIAC by sending them an email (but they are quite backlogged at this moment). Hope this helps. Cheers

Hi Smiler, there are many visa options which you can go through in the Immi website. http://www.immi.gov.au/immigration/ I am sure you will find more knowledge there. Good Luck. Cheers.

Hi Stum, you are right, when you say applications being made or sent, it includes the full set like IELTS, Skills Assessments etc. DIAC accepts applications online or Paper and you can find more about these on their exhaustive website http://www.immi.gov.au/ . Regarding IELTS, I know there is a significant rush due to the deadline but an independent check for availability would also let you know the correct picture http://www.ielts.org/. All the best !
