  1. Hi guys, Ok thank for you reply. He has had an work related injury and was unable to work. Thanks for you reply's though.
  2. Hi guys I was wondering if you could tell me. I am a permanent visa holder and my brother is here on a 2nd year working holiday visa. Can I sponsor him in any way? Or give him points towards his visa application?
  3. I'm so sorry to hear you had a bad experience. Hopefully you had it covered. My leather chairs were cut by Grace on this side in perth when they were unpacking. Really annoying. Hope you get it all sorted. Best of luck.
  4. Thanks for your reply's guys. Hopefully he can get it done.
  5. Hi all, My brother has recently moved over to WA and is a cabinet maker. He has 6 years experience and is working as a cabinet maker in wa now. His company are willing to sponsor him but he has no trade papers. He has the first 4 phases certs from FAS. Can he get his skills assessed and if so what would he need to prove himself? Any info would be great. Thanks.
  6. Hey, I took my phil and teds pram over. They had no problem with it. They let me take it to the gate in Dublin. They then put it into a clear heavy duty plastic bag. Which protected it great. In Dubai the have free ma claren stroller's so its one less this to worry about. With regards to car seat, I didn't take one, as the regulations are diff over here. My advise would be to sell yours and buy a new one over here. O and one more thing if you are struggling to make the weight of your bags, an post do a great deal. 20KG box of any size for €60. I've had a few boxes sent over this way and they are normally no more then a week door to door. For the flight with little ones - it really isnt as bad as you think. The time goes really quick. I brought little presants- sticker books-card making kit- snap cards- jig saw etc. and also treats, ( try to hold off on them as long as you can so you have enough to do you on your second flight. Things like raisins of foods that take that bit longer to eat are great to pass a bit of time. I didnt give her anything untill she started to get ancy, which was a good 2-3 hours once we got onboard. After that it was Tea time, then a movie then a snack and then we were landing. I keep her awake inbetween flights, let her run around a bit found a nice seat with a good where she could play and colour in, and then took here for something to eat. (I had a 5 Hour stop over) if you have a two hour stop over it will go so quick. For the second flight, we were both tired by this stage, we got on-board took off and as soon as we were up in the air I got her seat comfortable and took her blanket out and off she went, for about 6 and a half hours. By the time she woke up there was only a few hours left on the flight and it was dinner time again. lol Im not going to lie, the last few hours for me went sooo slow, but my daughter was really as good as gold. She made a few cards, etc and by the time we went and got freshened up it was time to land.. So that was my trip, hope this helps. Safe trip over all. x
  7. Hey Guys, Just to update. Emirates couldn't of been nicer to fly with young children. No problem taking the pram as well as a full 30 kg suitcase for my 3 year old. Flight went surprizing fast. Lots of kids programs on the tv between dinner and sticker books and naps. Staff on the Plane were also really nice. x[h=2][/h]
  8. Hey guys, Thanks for the replays. So the fact I have only a half 20ft container doesn't really matter. I was told by the shipping company this side that it's normally that price for a full 20ft do was thinking mine would have been less. Wishfull thinking lol. O god I hope there's not much delays, our stuff is due into Perth in early october. Fingers crossed it all goes ok. Thanks again
  9. Hey, Was just wondering if people could tell me how much AQIS fees should be? I have 500cuft arriving into Fremantle port, Perth. I have used a shipping company and they have passed my stuff onto an agent in Australia, who are now saying AQIS is going to be $440 plus 3.5% credit card charge! Would that sound right? And if people would like to expand on their own experience of AQIS fees for everyone benefit. All comments are welcome. Kind regards
