  4. All for less than the price of a loaf of bread darn saarf i can't tho, I'd have to trade the dog in for a whippet and start to drink John smiths and from deepest darkest Dorset Oxford is indeed ooop norf I have had to go there on occasion, do you know they put tomato sauce on their kebabs? Honestly how grim is that, the only things allowed on a kebab are chili sauce and garlic mayo, and maybe a bit of hedgehog for a Dorset kebab
  5. Only if he is a prince and part of the royal family
  6. Ah, sorry Colour TV is a bit like when you sit in the outhouse and look through the window down the garden, you can see things moving and they are in colour. I believe you have to go south of Milton Keynes to experience this, careful though, anything north of Waterloo station is bandit country. Even ' that London ' was considered north and beyond civilisation where I came from, but my OH is a northerner, she's from Oxford
  7. Tis grim ooop north, some parts have colour tv now though
  8. Bought a big screen garmin with lifetime free map updates and traffic alerts to avoid delays from dick smith for $140 which was cheaper than 100 pound Australia and NZ map I bought for mine before we came which then gave up. Don't bother buying a map update, buy a new GPS when you get here some good cheap deals about

    CS gas

I agree with reporting it, but unless you know where they live you won't get much joy I'm afraid. I can see where you are coming from with the spray, pepper is the only legal choice, but most sell in 30 or 40 grm cans, there is a place in CBD that sells in larger 75 grm can may be of more use in the situation you have had Worth a thought
  10. Been there for work to visit one of our factories, seemed nice enough, bit laid back, snow in winter and cold, was only there a few day though
  11. I thank you humour is a wonderfully underrated pastime
  12. I too have been on safari north of Joondalup Take your camera, you may, if you are really quiet, come upon the very shy ' whippet ' in its native habitat You may also find some of the local folk have domesticated the ' dumbrabbitchaser ' or ' greyhound ' Northern man has developed a way to shield himself from the mid day sun, the 'flat cap' can be worn with the 'clogs' for total protection from the elements After a tough day at work he can be found in the ' return of the rovers ' relaxing in shell suit or puma track suit and white Nike air's enjoying a warm bitter and watching ' foot ball ' on Telebox sports
  13. Yep, you will soon learn to pick them out football shirts and badly spelt tattoos, top to toe labels, Nike, Adidas , kswiss, bench, D&G Lonsdale etc etc some of it might even be real follow Tonyman and head South, or us and East into the hills or you might have to learn to speak ' northern'
  14. Yeeessssss, Butler has less, well, is less ummm Spanish, more ' north of England '
  15. yes the old bit west of the sticky out breakwater, east of it is well, TV benidorm complete with mels mobiles, my sis lives in the hills outside Alicante, good ice cream on the corner opposite the marina

Let the UK company you are registered with know your new address in Aus, most will have a reciprocal arrangement with a company you can register with, or be able to give you some names, our vet told us if UK company could not do this they would provide us a list of Aus companies we could register with

    NOT on SOL

As I understand it you can only be sponsored if the occupation is on the skills required list, if its not you can't be sponsored even if you find someone willing to give you a job, might be wrong, but that's how I understand it
  18. I agree, in the grand scheme of things is it worth it for what you will get for it ? you won't need to paint the whole car. Any good body shop will match the paint, if its a solid colour they will paint the new door and polish other panels to match, if its metallic paint they will paint the door and blend the adjacent panels. If you want a cheap option get the paint code from the data plate under the bonnet, look on line for car dismantlers, see if they have a door from same paint code car, fit, polish, job done
  19. Sheldon Cooper, his views make more sense then any of the current lot And he's completely normal compared to most of them
  20. Hi, if you are just planning a dive or 2 while you are here I would just hire the kit when you need it and save the bother and luggage space. Lots of dive shops round Perth. Some good sites round Rottnest if you don't want to travel too far, or if you are up for a bit of an adventure head to Ningaloo. Some of the dive shops here offer free shore dives on a Sunday with a bit of a social after, BBQ or picnic and a few beers, nice way to spend some time on a Sunday.
  21. If you are moving with a container bring cylinders. As they are they wont pass Aus pressure test and you wont get them filled anywhere as UK cylinder valves don't have a Burst disk. There is a dive company in Perth that makes a valve to fit UK cylinder neck thread (different to Aus thread) it has a burst disk and will get your UK cylinders useable here, had mine done, cheaper than buying new cylinders, pm me for details of company
  22. Just need to make sure you have the money put aside for crossover training. In WA you will need RPL to get your gas licence, if you want to work on appliances you will need a separate weeks course to get the servicing element on your licence. Allow up to 3 weeks at TAFE for both depending on RPL and up to $4000 ish depending in the elements you are required to do
