  1. Hi all, I am Tracey and an 42 years young, have moved to Westmead in the Western suburbs on Wednesday (30/1/13), so everything is all new and am still finding my feet. Would love to meet up for coffee or lunch or something.
  2. Hi all, I am 42 years old and have just arrived in Sydney on Wednesday (30/01/2013). I am staying in Westmead, near Parramatta in the Western suburbs and wondered if anyone wants to meet up for drinks or coffee or lunch, or even for the beach. Don't feel like venturing out at night at moment as I don't drive, but can get train to CBD. I feel all alone and in need of some great company.
  3. Hi all, I have just arrived in Parramatta, western Sydney, arrived on Wednesday, travelled alone and would be up for anyone wanting to meet up at any point for lunch or a coffee.
  4. Hi, It depends on what type of visa you are applying for as to whether you need to do the IELTS English exam and the ANMAC skills assessment, if you need to do these, get these done first, then sort out your registration which can take 6 months, but mine took 3 months. The IELTS test is really difficult, so only do it if you need to. When you apply for skills assessment or registration, you have to apply to the college for your transcript which is sent directly to them, mine cost £34 for this, and you also have to pay NMC to get original verification sent to them directly as well. Once you have the registration, you have 12 months to arrive in Australia to complete everything, so you would apply for visa, or get job if employer sponsoring visa, hope this helps, send me a message if you want to know anything else Tracey
  5. Hi Hells, I am also single and going alone to Sydney, am a paediatric nurse and moving at the end of January 2013, my 457 visa is here and am getting all excited. Let me know if you want to know anything.
  6. Hi Laura, I am a paediatric nurse and could only find jobs in Sydney and Perth, couldn't even find work with agencies in paediatrics. Tracey
  7. Hi Laura, That is fab news about the extension with AHPRA until August. xx
  8. I sent mine to Adelaide as that was where I wanted to go, couldn't get a job there though so now off to Sydney, they said I can go into any of their offices.
  9. Hi, After reports from others, I expected mine to take 6 months minimum so applied early and mine only took 3 weeks as well, had the biggest shock. Like you, I didn't want to go within the year, I actually emailed the APHRA office and explained the situation that I had been offered a job but didn;'t expect to go until a certain date and they extended my eligibility letter by 3 months and sent me a new letter. Tracey
  10. Hi Isis, I think I am in the same position as you. I applied to the Adelaide office (AHPRA) and have to present there by 8th November 2012, but I cannot find any paediatric jobs in Adelaide. It looks like I will be going on 457 visa once I get a job and sponsorship. I emailed AHPRA and they told me that once I have the eligibility letter I can present to any office to confirm registration. Tracey
  11. Can't help you there Nick, I put my credit card details on the form. Tracey
  12. Hi Chris, I paper clipped them all together. Hope this helps, and good luck
  13. Hi Chris, I just sent mine via international sign for with post office, as I wasn't prepared to pay lots of money to send it, the whole process is expensive enough. It can still be tracked until it leaves the UK. Tracey
  14. Does that mean that you don't need a skills assessment for the 457 or employer sponsored visas. I have wasted money then, as applied to ANMAC in June, sill waiting as the NMC verification has been sent twice now and they still haven't received it. How long are documents supposed to take to arrive from NMC? Tracey
  15. My JP at local court wanted £60 per document, which would have totalled £1800 as I wanted 3 copies of everything, found a notary for £50 the lot. It depends what area you live in as to the cost of things
  16. Hi The Hulls, As far as I am aware, you have to get a minimum score of 7 in each of the four sections in the IELTS. Good luck with it all
  17. I am looking into Notary Public now and so far £200 for an hour, shouldn't take much longer than that should it?
  18. Hi Laura, It is a Justice of the Peace who has quoted me that price at the local courts, I will have to shop around, thanks, Tracey
  19. Hi all, I am having problems getting my documents certified. I contacted my local Magistrate's court - Gloucester, and nearly passed out at the cost. They want £60 per document, and I have about 10 documents but need 3 copies of each I thought (for ANMAC, AHPRA, and visa application), so that £1800 for the documents. Does anyone have any idea of where I could go to get them done for cheaper close to Gloucester. Thanks. Tracey
  20. Hi Kevin, Like Donna says, I am sure you do need some experience here first, not sure how long though, Tracey
  21. Yes Donna, I passed the IELTS with an overall of 7.5 (7 for reading and writing, 8 for listening and 8.5 for speaking). I have to admit, I was surprised to pass as I found it so difficult to do, and came out of it expecting the worst. At least it is over, and valid for 2 years.
  22. Hi Donna, Yes, this is definitely a tiresome and lengthy process. I don't want to go until September 2012 as I am finishing my MSc degree at the moment and graduation is July 2012. I am going it alone as I can't afford an agent, but will do full assessment. I want to get assessment out of the way and then apply for registration in Aug/Sept as don't want to do it too early because of not being in Oz to validate it within the year. Where do you want to go, I am looking at Melbourne, Adelaide or Sydney.
  23. Hi Donna, thanks for that info, have emailed my manager to ask her to do the reference as I won't see her for a bit, am on lots of nights and weekends. Once that is done, I can get on with the skills assessment and registration
  24. Hi guys, I want to get my CV sorted and just have a couple of questions. Did anyone out their GCSEs and O levels on it or just professional qualifications, also did you list employment, etc with most recent first, have read that AHPRA have said chronological order, but usually a CV is most recent first, not earliest stuff first. Tracey
  25. Hi all, Sorry another question, it is driving me to despair. With the CV for AHPRA, did you list your qualifications and work history from the most recent first, or the first job you had? Have just read that they want it in chronological order, but usually a CV is listing most recent first. Tracey x
