  14. Hello, Heading over in June, we have the 176 for WA so Perth, I believe there's lots of work, but it's always who you know rather than what! imhave sent my cv to a few agencies and as always they tell you there's work and to get in contact when I get there. so unless I land a job before leaving, which I doubt, it will be everything crossed! Cheers

  16. Hello bensdad, you landed that job quite quickly didn't you, what do you do, how's your experience so far in Perth? were moving there June, it's all coming super quick, can't wait but a bit worried about the getting a job bit! Im a project manager/spark and believe there's loads of work, but it's still scares when you have mouths to feed! cheers gaza QUOTE=bensdad;1349441]I was warned not to wear a tie just suit trousers/pants and shirt. I followed the advice and got the job. Since working over here I can honestly say I have not seen anyone in our office wear a tie even for meetings.
  17. Hi, what qualifications do you have to be classed as an intermediate Electrical engineer? i have my HND but have gained PR through being an electrician. I am currently working as a projects manager but would like to make the step up if I could. When are you planning on getting there and where are you going? cherers gary QUOTE=shanethomas123;1353079]Hi Justin, If your qualifications are recognised under the Washington Accord then you wont have any problems, you can check this on the ECUK website - although this would be for the purposes of migration, not sure about requirments for a Professional Engineer, but you would be able to find this out on the Engineers Australia website. I am currently an Intermediate Electrical Engineer and am planning to get a similar job in Oz, from what I have seen salaries for seniors are in the region of $100-140k (£67-94k) I have seen positions for Associates (not Associate Directors) for up to $200k (£135k) - its fair to say that engineering pays in Oz!!! Check out www.seek.com.au

I can apply to energy safe and will get my licence. what a palavar!! cheers gary
