Hi. This is the first time I have used this forum, so hello!
I hope someone can help me ...
I am a single male, mid-30s, looking to move to the Northern Territory from London. My occupation is a Youth Worker and I have already passed the Skills Assessment. I am now preparing to submit the application for The Northern Territory (including the commitment letter).
However, I have a question regarding the financial requirements:
I have been informed that NT will want to see evidence of about £23k/AUS $34k in my bank account when they assess my application. I am also informed by the immigration consultants supporting my application that the money should show in my account for a couple of years after I arrive (assuming I'm successful and I make it to NT).
At present I do not have that amount in savings, but my family are prepared to lend me the sum required. But, as it's such a large amount, I'm keen to check in reality how long I need to borrow it for.
Based on your experience, how long did the amount actually need to be left in your account? Could I transfer it back to them once the application had been submitted (so they have it if I need to draw on it at a later stage) or should I keep it until I arrive? Did anyone want proof that you had the amount at your time of arrival?
Has anyone had similar experiences? How have you sorted it?
Appreciate any advice.
Thanks
Alex
